We recently got a demo unit of Asus’ latest Transformer Pad TF700. While this tablet has not been released in the Philippines, we were told it’s coming before the end of the month.
I already own the Asus Transformer Prime TF201 and did a little comparison with the Pad Infinity TF700.
The Pad Infinity TF700 has a full HD 1080p display. That’s 1920×1080 pixels compared to the 1280×800 pixel resolution of the Transformer Prime.
Here’s a close-up look at the display screen of the two tablets:
Notice that the Pad Infinity on the left still has more clarity when the HD photos is zoomed-in.
From the usual distance of 12 – 18 inches (reading distance), there’s some slight or niticeable difference. Where you will definitely see the huge improvement is when you’re viewing HD images and videos.
While the Transformer Prime had a clock speed of 1.6GHz, the Transformer Pad Infinity got a speed bump to 1.9GHz.
The synthetic benchmarks we did saw the bump and showed the improvements in the scores.
Our Quadrant score for the Pad Infinity is 4,729, an improvement from the 3,962 on the Prime.
The same goes with our Antutu Benchmark — it’s up to 12,353 from 10,979 on the Prime.
It’s actually in the NenaMark 2 benchmark where the score drops. The Transformer Prime got 49.7fps but the Pad Infinity is down to 39.5fps.
This is because of the screen resolution. The Pad Infinity has to fill up a lot more pixels in the screen compared to the Prime, thus slowing down the number of frames per second.
I am told that the only variant that will be released in the Philippines is the one with the 64GB internal storage.
