Aside from the VivoBook S15, ASUS also unveiled another VivoBook with more powerful specs and features like 4K UHD display and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics — the ASUS VivoBook Pro 15. Check out our first impressions below.
The ASUS VivoBook Pro 15 is aimed at users who demand more performance compared to the VivoBook S15. For starters, it also sports a 15.6-inch display but with 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution and 100% sRGB color range. However, it doesn’t have the NanoEdge display of the S15 so bezels are thicker.
The chiclet keys are also plastic but backlit. Like the S15, it also has a decently-sized trackpad but packs a fingerprint scanner on the upper right corner.
Connectivity-wise, it has three USB ports, SD card reader, headphone/mic combo, USB Type-C port, HDMI, and Ethernet port. The Pro 15 is also a multimedia powerhouse thanks to its Harman/Kardon speakers with Smart Amp.
Powering the whole device is a 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7700HQ quad-core processor with up to 16GB DDR4 RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics. Add to that the 512GB SSD + 2TB HDD with Intel Optane Memory. Keeping the whole system cool are Dual Fans with Intelligent Cooling.
When it comes to its build, the Pro 15 also features an aluminum chassis but is thicker than the S15 at 19.2mm and heavier at 2.2kg, although this is understandable considering the hardware it packs under the hood.
