Corsair has been selling RAM with the Vengeance series since 2011 and with the recent release of the newest memory technology, Corsair has given us a chance to test the latest iteration, the Vengeance DDR5. Will the new technology be worth it right after its release? Or should users stick to the DDR4 for now? Stick around to find out.

Right off the bat, we see the Vengeance DDR5 RAMs in its regular unapologetic Corsair packaging. The RAMs come in cardboard packaging with an image of one of the memory modules printed on the front along with the Corsair logo, model, frequency, and capacity.
At the rear of the box, we find more information in different languages and a cut-out of the box that allows buyers to see the information on both memory modules.
Inside the box, apart from the two modules protected by transparent plastic, there is an additional small brochure with plenty of safety information.
On the Corsair Vengeance DDR5 modules, the front of the DIMM itself looks sleek and aesthetically pleasing that features a silver-colored metal plate that has the Vengeance logo printed in the middle of it.
The back of the DIMM has the exact same look but has a standard black color with a sticker that contains the information about the DIMM. To say the least, once these are installed, they give a very minimalist feel for those who are not fans of RGB lighting.
To quickly run through the methodology of testing, essentially we take the kits that are being tested into the test bench with their stock XMP profile and run a variety of benchmarks and tests. Once that’s done, overclocking the RAM is done and benchmarks are run using the same software with the overclocked values. Everything else is run at stock.
When overlocking RAM, it normally is done in several ways, some of which are increasing frequency, lowering the timings, and changing relevant voltages. With the right combination of these measures, users are bound to attain the best performance.
The newest generation of DDR5 RAM has been in the market for some time now, and despite the fact that it is still young in the market and can only be used with Intel’s latest Alder Lake-S chipset, the increase in performance that it provides in relation to the previous generation is surprising. In addition, the Corsair Vengeance DDR5 modules are much more stable and with much lower consumption. The only current issue it has is the mind-blowing cost it comes with. Although it is a fact that we only now find at least 32GB kits, at a price of PHP 16,995, it might still be something PC Builders would have to reconsider.
The Corsair Vengeance DDR5 RAM portrays that it is not a necessity to have a top-of-the-line product in order to enjoy top performance. Exceptional performance was given throughout this test delivering a great level of performance that is pretty much above average with stability.
Furthermore, these memories are best for those that are looking for the best performance while still maintaining a low profile and being able to install enormous CPU heatsinks. Though we know some would say that RGB is very much appreciated, we feel as though the minimalist aesthetic is something that really brings out the beauty in these RAMs.
