Dell finally revealed details of its upcoming mini-notebooks and it seems they’re targeting the Asus Eee PC and MacBook Air crowd. The Dell E and E Slim line with come in at 8.9″ and 12.1″, respectively hoping to snatch a portion of the growing UMPC market.

The units will also be very slim — between 21 to 24mm thick or 0.8 inch (like 2 slim mobile phones stack together). According to Engadget, the Dell E series will start at $299 for the low-end 4GB/512MB model.

Hmm… the Dell E also comes in 4g? I immediately thought it could go against the Eee PC 701 but the Dell offers more with bluetooth and a more powerful processor.
But the thing is, I love my Eee PC and I wouldn’t consider replacing it just yet. It perfectly fits my lifestyle. It actually taught me to get back to the basics which, to my amazement, is all I really need.
