Acer is positioning the Gateway brand as its stylish counter-part so whenever we see an Aspire One out the door, expect a corresponding Gateway LT netbooks to follow suit. Spotted at an Asianic store yesterday are the 10.1″ Gateway LT2003i and the 11.6″ Gateway LT3102i.
These two are basically cousins of the Acer Aspire One D250 and the AO571 with some minor design differences and a CPU coming from AMD with the 11.6″ LT3102i.

It would be very interesting to know how that Athlon 64 L110 CPU would fare compared to say an Atom Z520 1.33GHz CPU. At least the Gateway LT3102i has a graphics chip with a fairly-sized dedicated memory.

Nyak! SATA…? Maganda pa ang HDD ng Seagate. Madami na kong naririnig dyan sa SATA, panget daw.
yheng_q says:
So, which pc has better CPU – the Gateway LT3102i (w/ AMD Athlon 64 L110) or the Acer Asphire One AO751 (w/ Atom Z520)?
Huan22 says:
@eldie 21,
FYI, SATA refers to the interface not to the type of device. There is absolutely no comparison point between Seagate manufactured HDD and SATA.
www.livedito.com says:
yes SATA is not that good

.. mas ok ba ito compared sa 11.6 inch din ng acer? and if i-downgrade ko mula orig vista nya into XP, pwede ba? .. thanks ..
Lee says:
Pre-installed na ung Vista e.. ndi na advisable na downgrade sya to XP.. besides.. Vista Basic naman ung nka install e.. it doesn’t take much of memory as compared to Home Premium, etc. So, it’s like XP with the Vista’s UI.. =)
bought this for 26K last Aug… and so far Im not having any problem.. I even run d sidebar on startup, and still it loads up very fast..
walang masabi ung acer counterpart, coz this one’s loaded with the Athlon processor then sinamahan pa ng dedicated na ATI graphics..
kastuyan says:
.. sir lee, dito kasi sa pc corner, merong P23k na 11.6″ na walang OS na kasama, and since meron ako genuine XP, if yun ba ang i-install ko, walang magiging problema? thanks again, musta ang gateway? wala bang problema compared sa ibang netbook? ..

Hi. Just need an advice, which brand and features is much better, gateway or msi netbook? I got both kasi and im planning to dispose one…please help. tnx.
Lee says:
Hi guys!
Goodnews for those who have bought this laptop. This is fully compatible with the new Windows 7 (Professional).
It runs faster using Windows 7 than its pre-installed Vista Basic. You could also enjoy those amazing effects that goes with it, which you wouldn’t see in Vista Basic. (e.g. the animated windows switch, the thumnail view in the taskbar, etc etc. … oh.. and the changing wallpaper) =)
Happy Holidays everyone!
P.S.
Just to answer the questions above… the ATI Radeon that is included in the notebook has its own dedicated memory. So its good enough for you to play games. I can play World of Warcraft without any LAG… Just dont expect for it to run some DVD games like Devil May Cry which obviously has big requirement. Still remember this notebook is still classified under netbooks. ;)
MSI has a larger HDD… but then again, its just a dealer option… I chose Gateway, because I’m after the “after-sales” (like the Gateway support, warranty, etc. Gateway has been a trusted brand in the US for so many years, and the price aint bad). ;)
NineSwordz says:
sir Lee, ibig po ba sabihin ng “dedicated” is.. pwede parin i-upgrade yung video memory nitong Gateway LT2003i & LT3102i since hindi sya “integrated” graphic card? or integrated parin?
Lee says:
Nope, I don’t think you can… it’s not like desktops that you can just easily detach it from the motherboard.
Then again, I’m not sure, haven’t tried disecting my notebook… hehe
NineSwordz says:
Ahh i see.. but is there any “decent” netbook with a “dedicated” GPU? Just wandering if I can own one and then later I’ll just have to change the video card into a better one. ^_^
