The 2nd-generation Google Nexus 7 is now up for pre-order on Best Buy, pre-empting the official announcement later tonight. Packing a 7-inch full HD display, a quad-core Snapdragon CPU, 2GB RAM and Android 4.3 Jellybean, the Nexus 7 v2 starts at $229.
The new Nexus tablet now features a 5 megapixel rear camera paired with a 1.3MP front-facing camera. Google changed the rubbery texture on the back with the kind of plastic that is similar to the one on the Nexus 10.
Google – Asus Nexus 7 2.0 specs:
7-inch IPS LCD display @ 1200×1920 pixels, 323ppi
Corning Gorilla Glass
Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.5GHz quad-core processor
Adreno 320 Graphics
2GB RAM
16GB and 32GB internal memory
LTE 100Mbps (optional)
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, dual-band
Bluetooth 4.0
GPS
NFC
5MP autofocus rear camera, no flash
1.3MP front-facing camera
Android 4.3 Jellybean
Li-Ion 3950mAh battery
114 x 200 x 8.65mm (dimensions)
290 grams (weight)
The device is also much thinner at just 8.65mm.
The new Google Nexus 7 will be sold for $229 for the 16GB variant, $269 for the 32GB and $349 for the 32GB LTE model; that’s $30 more than the previous model at release. Expect this Google tablet to be priced a little higher once it arrives in local stores (perhaps Php13,995 for the 16GB and Php16,995 for the 32GB).
Pre-orders are now up on Best Buy here, while it will also be made available for pre-order on other sites. The Nexus 7 v2 will be launching on July 30.

arcy says:
How much and san nakkabili?
RJ says:
What’s the verdict? Ok ba?
dx says:
kelan kaya dadating to sa pinas buy ako nito yung may LTE at magkano kaya magiging price nito?
eliezzzerrr says:
Meron po ba call and text features to?
RJ says:

Looks like the USA version only supports Globe lte.

2) http://www.mobile31.com/2013/06/Philippines-GSM-Frequency-Band.html
According to these websites, the bands for Smart are:
1) 4G (live LTE, WiMAX, HSPA+, test, license) – LTE HSPA+ WiMAX 850/1800/2100Mhz (Launch Date: August 2012)
2) devices need to be “optimized to Smart LTE frequency – 2100 MHz Band 1 LT”
I assume, then, that the Nexus 7 2013 “Razor” is compatible with Smart LTE. I’m not sure why the original author said they are not.
NexusFan says:
Jason says:
Wag na kayo kumuha ng PLAN na may LTE neto, isusuka lang ng Nexus ang bilis ng mga LTE dito. up to 28MBPS, reality: 7MBPS. P*Cha! mga scammer telco dito haha
Yusuf says:
The LTE version is just at $349. Omg.
JP says:
I really hope Smart picks this up for their internet plans. they did the same last year for the 1st nexus right? anyone here know if the internet speed was good enough?
Herbert Dan Tria says:
magkakaroon kaya ng cellular version nito??
Yusuf says:
Yes. It is 4G/LTE capable. It’s a 32 GB version with a cellular radio. Price is at $349.
jedd says:
Do we have a Google Store here in the Philippines? I’m staying in Silang Cavite. Can anyone share?
Fafrafe says:
And how much kaya? Pssh! I will not wait for ipad mini 2 next year pa sila mag lalabas nun early 2014. And i think nexus is also a good tablet for its price kahit yung 1st gen.
mr_diaz says:
May microwave ba ito? Nakakapalamig ba ito ng beer? Deal breaker yan sa akin.
jedd says:
where can I buy this in the Philippines?
Blitz says:
Same question.
fans says:
ughhh says:
manahimik nga kayong mga haters. :))
Yusuf says:
Ok i’m seriously buying this.
queerty says:
$329 na yan pag nkarating ng Pinas
lonlon says:
good price
Abed says:
I think this is just an incremental update. Pero ok na din. Will wait for the iPad Mini 2 muna bago mag decide. :)
Gray Ligtas says:
I don’t think the iPad mini 2 will surpass this tablet spec-wise. Apple tends to concentrate more on the visual beauty of its products rather than paying attention to its specs. The iPad mini 2 might surpass the predecessor of the Google Nexus 7 v2 since Google Nexus 7 v1 > Ipad Mini. They might try to impress you yet again with a wider and longer screen like what they did for the iPhone 5 but retina display and all Google gives its all on the products they are putting their name into while Apple will give its customer smoother transition app-to-app. Maybe wait for iPad mini 3 then compare it to this tab.
Abed says:
I mean upgrade.
tsk says:
ano source nito?
Abe Olandres says:
Please see link to Best Buy above.
albertsubiano says:
It’s beautiful. The black color is really deep.
Wis says:
like the thinner bezel….
Andrei says:
wow! hoping to see another nexus device, probably a nexus 4 that has a bigger storage. but i think it would be better to pick the asus memo pad 7 hd. cheaper with almost the same specs. that’s just me though.
sylv3rblade says:
Isn’t the Memopad equipped with a MediaTek chip? The Tegra 3 one is bad enough, imagine a lower spec’d one.
hoy says:
oysned says:
Galit ka ba kay bob or inggit or both?
hoy says:
@pahiya
So pati video galing sa ebay? I see. Cool, im so proud of you bob you just made your “original” article. #sarcasminthehighestlevel hahahahaha
r41 says:
Troll just got PWNED! Good job sir Bob and sir Yuga!
On topic, with these specs, wonder how long the device can last on a single charge?
Abe Olandres says:
The link to Best Buy website with the specs are at the bottom of the article. We pre-ordered the Nexus 7 from them this evening.
Bob Freking says:
You can search the entire internet; you will find that nothing is copied. All the details are in Best Buy which is linked above.
Heh, I’ve seen this comment so many times before. Maybe this is the one that is copied.
dorky says:
HAHAHAHA! sabi na kokopyahin to ni dorky! Shame! =))
Abe Olandres says:
We bought the Nexus 7 from Best Buy this evening and got the specs from there.
