HP announced two new sets of ultrabooks during IFA last week. The HP Spectre XT TouchSmart and the Envy TouchSmart Ultrabook 4. Both have large touchscreen displays to help cater to Windows 8.
The Spectre XT has 15.6-inch multitouch Radiance Full HD (1920×1080) IPS display with edge-to-edge glass across it. It is HP’s first notebook to use the Thunderbolt technology for fast data transfers to external devices.
Full set of ports are available which includes a Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0 and HDMI. As for dimensions it is 17.9 mm thin and weighs 4.77 pounds.
It also has a glass touchpad and speakers powered by Beats Audio. The entire body has a brushed metal finish and will ship with the latest Intel Core processors and solid-state drive or hybrid hard drive options.
The HP Spectre XT TouchSmart Ultrabook is expected to arrive this December in the US with a starting price of $1,400.
For the HP Envy TouchSmart Ultrabook 4, it is almost similar to the Spectre XT but has a smaller 14-inch multitouch HD display but no Thunderbolt. It has a backlit keyboard, up to 8 hours of battery life, Beats Audio and an optional 2GB AMD GPU. It will also carry the latest Intel Core processors with an option for a SSD.
It also has the same metallic body, measures 23 mm thin and weighs 4.77 pounds. The Envy TouchSmart Ultrabook 4 is expected to arrive in the US for the holidays. Pricing is TBA.
