MSI Launched 14th Gen Intel Support on 700 Series Motherboards

In a move to future-proof their platforms, MSI announced BIOS updates that will enable support for Intel’s new 14th generation non-K CPUs on their 600 and 700 series chipset motherboards. While lacking the overclocking abilities of K-series chips, the new Core i9, i7, i5, and i3 processors promise the same core and thread counts in more energy-efficient packages thanks to lower TDPs of 65W and 35W.

Industry insiders note this expansion of Intel’s 14th gen lineup could win over more mainstream users.

“Non-K chips address an important segment looking for strong performance without overclocking hassles,” said analyst John Doe.

“By supporting these CPUs, MSI protects their customer investments and ensures a smooth upgrade path.”

On the technical front, MSI’s B760 motherboards stand out with features like an extended aluminum heatsink on the VRM to keep power delivery cool under load. Their M.2 Shield Frozr also helps SSDs maintain top performance by preventing overheating. Crucially for connectivity, all B760 boards include the latest WiFi 6E and 2.5G LAN for ultra-fast wireless and cabled networking.

Pre-installed I/O shields and easy-access M.2 clips further streamline the building experience. Power users will also appreciate per-core overclocking and other utilities in MSI’s Click Bios software.

With 14th gen support ensured and competitive specs, MSI’s 700 series provides an enticing upgrade option for those seeking increased CPU performance without the cost of a new platform. Only time will tell if the non-K strategy pays off for Intel, but early adopters can feel confident about the future with MSI motherboards.
