MSI expands their keyboard line-up with two new additions — The Vigor GK70 and GK80. Both keyboards feature Cherry MX RGB Red or Silver switches and are compatible with the company’s Mystic Light ecosystem.
First up let’s take a closer look at the bigger Vigor GK80. The new keyboard features a full layout, RGB-lit side accents, and an anodized aluminum faceplate. It also has dedicated media keys and a USB 2.0 pass through at the right corner of its chassis. For added comfort, MSI included a full-length wrist wrest in the package.
To add a bit more flair to the device, the WASD keys of the GK80 have meta zinc alloy keycaps. Although if that’s not to your fancy, then it can be replaced, along with other keys of your choice, to a set of so-called anti-slip dragon scale double rubber injection keycaps. Interestingly, unused keycaps can be conveniently stored in a slot at the bottom of the included wrist rest.
Lighting is per-key RGB customizable and, as mentioned earlier, can be controlled and synced with other devices via MSI’s Mystic Light software. Other than that, we have 100% anti-ghosting with N-key rollover and hardware control hotkeys for MSI gaming motherboards and graphics cards. To top it all off, underneath the keyboard are grooves for cable management.
Next up is the GK70. The keyboard shares the same design, construction, switches, and metal WASD keys as the GK80 but instead uses a tenkeyless (no Numpad) layout. Other features like Mystic Light support, Anti-ghosting, per-key customization, and the hardware hotkeys are also here to stay. However, it forgoes the dedicated media keys, USB pass through, and wrist rest.
Both keyboards will go on sale this March though pricing is yet to be announced.
