With dozens and dozens of new netbook models coming out the market, it’s no wonder prices of earlier units have gone down significantly. Check out which ones are selling for a bargain.
Yesterday, I bought an MSI Wind U100 as a temporary replacement for my busted Compaq-Presario.
I was actually looking for the MSI Wind U90 model as it’s cheaper but it turns out every other netbook has dropped prices as well:
Asus Eee PC 701: Php11,300
Acer Aspire One: Php15,000 cash (Php15,900 for 6 month zero percent interest)
MSI Wind U90: Php16,900
MSI Wind U100: Php19,999 cash/straight (No OS but DOS with 160GB HDD upgrade)
Asus Eee PC 900: Php15,900 (20GB SSD, Linux)
Asus Eee PC 1000H: Php26,900 (6-cell battery, 1GB RAM, 80GB HDD, Windows XP)
Some of the prices are running on a promo (like the Wind) while others are on a cash or straight credit card basis. Stores like PC Corner, CompLink, etc. have these available on sale.

@Nikko,
thanks
can i used notebook for online gaming, or is there any brands that can i used for online gaming.
kouji says:
wow. who would have thought that new laptop prices would sink so low? seems only recently that you couldn’t get anything for less than P40 or P60T.
Nikko says:
for laptop, depends on your budget. if it’s a netbook, at least wait for lenovo s10 to get out sometime this september.
Men says:
What best laptop can you suggest me to buy, or should i wait before christmas, to buy one?
Willy says:
Good thing I did not go for that Compaq B1400 series. For its price then (~40k) plus another 10k to boot, got myself a decent desktop and a netbook.
Nikko says:
^^ Actually malamang bababa lahat ng prices desktop and laptop pag dating ng december. Kasi parang ilalabas na nung intel ung core i7 sa last quarter of this year. tiis tiis n lng tsaka dinadasalan ko hehehe
Webmaster says:
Sana bumaba ang prices this coming christmas season, para happy ang christmas natin lahat.

@Liz. I think 1.3mp is a standard. Haven’t seen one with higher mp, or I just haven’t really noticed. You could always buy a USB webcam that has higher mp :)
Liz says:
Which netbook has the best webcam? I’ve tried Asus and Acer, but am not satisfied with those. :(
jhay says:
I agree with Nikko. Still waiting for the Lenovo IdeaPad. ;)
Nikko says:
I’m considering buying a wind myself. But also waiting for the lenovo s10. Hirap mag decide.
By the way, what happened to your compaq? I was also considering buying the same because it has a 12″ screen and is still light enough. I still find the 10″ a bit too small.
calvin says:
nice nice. 20k for a wind. i don’t care if it has no OS. linux and 160GB HDD is nice!
otoy says:
sana bumaba din prices dito sa south..
