Viewsonic ViewPad 7x on Android Honeycomb

Viewsonic already had a 7-inch tablet, called the ViewPad 7, last year and we saw it last April during their local launch along with other Android handsets. This time, the Viewsonic ViewPad 7x will run Tegra2 and Honeycomb.

This 7-incher is pretty capable — 7-inch display @ 1024×600 pixels, Android 3.0, NVidia Tegra 2 Dual-Core 1.0GHz, 3G/HSPA+, HDMI-out etc. Viewsonic has just entered the Philippine market with their tablets and smartphones so we might not see this unit selling locally any time soon.

What’s interesting to note is that Viewsonic seems to share the same OEM supplier as several other local companies (like Cherry Mobile & RedFox) so it’s possible the local brands will also pick this one and release it sooner than expected. And hopefully, it’s going to be sub-20k affordable

  1. 1st :D

  2. That is the reason why I didn’t buy their unit due to the fact that it is the same with other china tablets and also in the review I read here are not good.

    • *the review I read in other sites

    • 90% ng mga gadgets sa market made in china.

  3. for info sa lahat that almost all tabs and electronic gadgets are made in china and just printed with their brandnames elsewhere. to you benchmark, dont be confident that your gadget is made outside china. Ask those people working at the export processing zone at baka mapahiya ka sa belief mo.

    • talagang tama ka sa pamahayag mo…hope na matoto rin tayong mag appreciate kahit locally made ang gadget natin…kaso particular tayong mga pinoy sa mga “tatak” eh…so sorry sa mga natamaan ko.

    • Most of the times kasi, brand names says good quality (pero not all…). Kaya ganun.

As per locally made gadgets. I don’t know if meron ba talagang locally made gagdets (siguro meron din, I am not aware or just forgot it lang). But if you are refering to MyPhone, Cherry Mobile, etc. hmm I don’t think they are loally made. To what I understand, they are OEMs bought in other country, then added a logo in the unit, plus reprogram it to be pinoy.

  4. to apple users especially to @benchmark [if u are an apple user too or wala ka lang smartphone/tab] peace man.. :D

FOXCONN – A large, secretive contract manufacturer, some of the most renowned products Foxconn makes include the iPod, iPhone [5] and the iPad.[6] It also manufacturers the Amazon Kindle. source: wikipedia

    • i don’t give a flying f#*k where my device is made from. ano ba ang pangalan ng kulto mo at parang masyado ka yatang diehard fan ng android. it’s just an OS for crying out loud! if you don’t like apple then learn to accept the fact that other people exist outside of your comfort zone and you don’t need to drag them in.

and don’t be too obvious. “androideatsapple.” maaaannnnn, GROW UP!

    • Hehehe… nag-aaway sa OS.

  5. maybe benchmark is saying na this tablet came from the same line of cheap and sometimes inferior tablets.yes china made ang apple ipad but iba naman quality.try to compare cherry’s tablet and the apple’s,then we can understand where benchmark is coming from.

  6. To all:
My gulay naman, iba naman kasi iniisip nyong China thing eh. I am not saying na if it is “MADE IN CHINA” eh low quality na. My goodnes I am refering to the conotion like “china phone”, those imits and low quality gadgets, gets?

Once I’ve read here in one of Yuga’s commenter regarding Viewsonic Tablet. At first I was eager to get one, but in one of the commenter, I knew it was the same with cherry and other OEM tablets, and read its review (which is most or them are not good) hinde na ako nagbalak bumili even if it is viewsonic (cause I know it is a reputable brand).

I hope you get my drift.

@darkpalosx: Thanks po at nainitindihan nyo po yung sinasabi ko :)

    • *even if Viewsonic is a reputable brand, but knowing it was not built by them alone and they just printed their brand in an OEM unit, magdadalawang isip talaga ako.

@androideatsapple – what the f**k? ano ang connection? to apple users especially to benchmark? di ko makuha yun introduction mo

@leeto – you mean OEMs? yun mga major products have their own design and standards that china companies follow. sila lang ang nag-assemble kasi mura pero yun concept ay inisip somewhere else, or maaring sa china din. ngayon may mga gumagawa ng tablets na kung ano ano brand like NOKLA or IPED na gawa nun sinasabi mo.

    • Hehehe… ito na naman sila. Nag-aaway sa brand. Parang mga Noranians at Vilmanians.

    • @Edwin C

tanga, basahin mo yun nakasulat. anong noranians at vilmanians na kagaguhan ang nasa utak mo? nagaaway sa brand? isa ka pang comment ng comment na hindi nagbabasa.

nagaaway sa OS? sinabi ko ngang it’s just an OS for crying out loud. Magaway tayo sa kabobohan mo

  7. bili nalang kayo ng Apad or Dropad.. :)

  8. That is the reason why I didn’t buy their unit due to the fact that it is the same with other china tablets and also in the review I read here are not good.
