Surprisingly, I got another request from ReviewMe yesterday after rejecting the old one. So here goes my quick review about UrbanFonts.com:
At first, when I read the request and saw it was one about free fonts, I wondered why something being offered free needs to spend so much for this exposure. Since it’s a new site/service, I guess, the value it gets in terms of exposure and long term brand recognition is worth it. But when I saw the site, browsed around and download several nice fonts & dingbats I found, I though the service will speak for itself.
I used to collect a large number of fonts from almost everywhere but this one is a bit different. The tagging system and the descriptive archiving works really well when searching for fonts you don’t know yet, especially for doing logos.
There are around 8,000 free fonts to choose from but looks like the real goodies are pooled under the commercial fonts. This is one free font sites that don’t really have much ads or those nasty pop-up ads.
I think I already downloaded somewhere around 2 dozen fonts while writing this quick review. Anyway, just go over there and take a quick look at their free collections to see what I mean. I’m sure you’ll find a font or two to download.
Again, this is a paid review from ReviewMe for Urban Fonts.
