While catching up on photography-related news, I stumbled upon a handful of stunning headshots taken by Moscow-based photographer Alexander Khoklov which belongs to the 2D or not 2D? series.
Khoklov worked closely with renowned makeup artist and fellow Russian Valeriya Kutsan to achieve the two-dimensional look that makes composition fascinating and riveting.
The two artists are no stranger to this kind of project. They’ve already collaborated in a similar concept like Angry Beard (shown below) and Weird Beauty which also involves face-painting and having loads of creative juice.
According to Khoklov, he intends to change the people’s perspective about the human face through his works. Based from what we saw, I think we can all agree that he’s definitely on the right path in achieving that goal.
