Canon has been having this sale for months now and I only learned about it recently. I read somewhere this is the 3rd time they did this. Canon dSLR users may have already know about this but for the casual users like me, this me get you to grab a new “L” lens or that much-sought after 70-200mm 2.8L IS USM.
I emailed Canon Philippines to get the latest update on this ongoing sale. Though I haven’t gotten any reply back, I was told this sale will end on the 31st of January.

I already got myself a 50mm 1.8, the EF-S 10-22mm and the 17-85mm which came along with my latest Canon 40D purchase. The EF 70-200 MM 2.8 L USM is a must have.
I’ve been going to several CameraHaus and dZone stores looking for them prime lenses but they seem to all sold out and the nifty fifty (50mm) is the most requested lens by far.

May i know which is first to buy Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Lens Review by canon or Sigma 70-300mm F/4-5.6 APO DG
I am new to photography.. But I have purchased my EOS 400 D maybe 6 mos ago.
I am planning to buy a new Lens. BUt I want to have some opinion from those using it.
Abe Olandres says:
Go with the 50mm F/1.8 first, the nifty fifty. Great for portraiture so you’ll be using it a lot. IMO it’s the best bang for your buck.
Dexter says:
Thanks yuga.. much appreciated. I have to check the market on how much it is here in Saudi Arabia.. ro perhaps I can ask my relative to find one there..for php 3,375
Thanks again

Gusto ko ng fast tele zoom, at fast wide to mid-tele zoom, pang gigs. Kelangan mag-raket na sa paglilitrato hehe
Abe, suggest ako photography-related poll question, since ikaw naman yung may readers: Would you ever get into photography if digital photography wasn’t made affordable and accessible to the masses? :)
j4s0n says:
@Dexter – I have both lenses, and they both are good. The nifty-fifty’s fast and cheap. So get that :D. Although not wide, but heck, you got the kit lens for that anyway :D
Ako I want either EF 24-70 MM 2.8 L USM or
EF 24-105 MM 4 L IS USM
Although both are tooooo expensive. Sigh….
EFS 17-85 MM 4-5.6 IS USM = Php 23,250 looks interesting enough. Wide, mid-tele, IS and cheap against the L ones. Hehehe.

@ j4s0n
Thanks for your 2nd the motion .. Lot of information says that EF 24-70 MM 2.8 is also one of the best General lens..
I have asked the price here in saudi arabia it cost 4,000 Saudi Riyals. GGraabeee..
Nifty fifty is about 400 Saudi Riyals ( 1 Saudi Riyals = PHP 10.8 )

Yup. Get the 50mm. Possibly the best non-L lens out there for that price. Super sharp plus the 1.8 makes you want to use it at night.
You can view the latest photos I took from the Qatar ATP tournament at my gallery (http://gallery.lifeonthespot.com). Basically used 70-200 f4 L USM, 10-22mm, and a 17-40L lens.
Would want the EF 70-200 MM 2.8 L USM for its depth of field or the EF 70-200MM 4L IS USM = Php 44,963.
