Canon has just announced the release of its latest additions to its popular Point-and-Shoot lineup — the PowerShot G16, S120, SX510 and the SX170.
The PowerShot G16 succeeds last year’s G15. Canon adds built-in WiFi to its arsenal, making it the first PowerShot in the G-series to carry the feature. The G16 can has the ability to share images and video to social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Flickr or via email through the use of Canon Image Gateway. Users can also upload images via their compatible iOS or Android device through the free Canon CameraWindow app.
The PowerShot G16 features a 12.1 megapixel CMOS sensor, Canon’s HS System, DIGIC 6 image processor, 28-140mm wide-angle lens with an aperture range of f/1.8 – f/2.8 and 1080p/60p Full HD video recording.
The PowerShot G16 is scheduled to be available in October 2013 for an estimated retail price of $550.
Succeeding the popular PoweShot S110 is the S120. The PowerShot S120 retains the built-in WiFi, 12.1 megapixel CMOS sensor and 24-120mm wide angle lens but now with an aperture range of f/1.8-f/5.7. It also features Canon’s HS System, DIGIC 6 image processor, improved AF system, 1080p/60p Full HD video recording, and the ability to shoot at 12.1fps at full resolution.
The PowerShot S120 is scheduled be available in October 2013 for an estimated retail price of $450.
The PowerShot SX510 HS packs a 30x optical zoom with a 24mm wide-angle lens. It features a 12.1 megapixel CMOS sensor with Intelligent IS and DIGIC 4 Image Processor. In addition, it also comes equipped with a built-in WiFi and the ability to record 1080p Full HD video.
The PowerShot SX510 HS is scheduled to be available in September 2013 for an estimated retail price of $250.
The PowerShot SX170 IS a 16x optical zoom with 28mm wide-angle lens camera that features an Optical Image Stabilization, High-Speed AF and Intelligent IS system. It is equipped with a 16.0-megapixel sensor, DIGIC 4 Image Processor, and 720p HD video recording capability. Unlike the rest of the pack, the SX170 doesn’t feature a built-in WiFi but it is the most affordable of the pack.
The PowerShot SX170 IS digital camera is scheduled be available in September 2013 for an estimated retail price of $180.
