Along with the new CoolPix cameras, Nikon also released pair of FX lenses; a zoom lens (wide-angle 18-35mm f/3.5 – 4.5G ED) and a bank-breaking telephoto prime lens (AF-S 800mm f/5.6E FL ED VR).
The new Nikkor bazooka has a native focal length of 800mm with an f/5.6 opening. That’s long right? In fact it’s the longest lens on Nikon’s stable, but users can still go longer as the this bad boy comes with a teleconverter which extends the length to 1000mm. The downside about it though is that the aperture will drop to f/7.1.
As mentioned earlier, this lens isn’t for everybody, especially if you don’t have little over Php700k to invest on a big ass lens. But if money isn’t an issue for you and you profession/hobby requires you to have one, we’re guessing that it’s gonna be worth every cent.
Now let’s get to the more realistically priced full-frame lens, the AF-S 18-35mm f/3.5 – 4.5G ED. This USD750 wide-angle lens is imbued with a Silent Wave Motor (SWM) for a fast and silent autofocusing. It’s also lightweight (385g) and compact, making it a perfect companion to your full-frame Nikon DSLR.
this is a good investment in terms of capturing leaked photos :)
id buy a car with 700k, or a house
700k is insane to spend on a lens. But then again, with that monster, you probably can see Russia from Alaska.
kahit photo ng tao hindi mo pa rin makukunan with this focal length if nasa 1km ang layo nya.
“a bank-breaking telephoto lens (AF-S 800mm f/5.6E FL ED VR)” – this is a telephoto prime lens
prime lens is a fixed focal length lens e.g. 24mm, 50mm, 100mm, etc
zoom lens has a range of focal length e.g. 18-35, 17-40, 24-70, 100-300 etc etc
just sharing :-)
Thanks buddy, got that mixed up for a while there. :D
“a prime (wide-angle 18-35mm f/3.5 – 4.5G ED)” – this is not a prime lens, this is a zoom lens :-)
