For the 4th straight year, we’re doing the Search Engine Marketing Conference again and it will happen on October 7 & 8, 2010 here in Manila. It’s a search marketing event you don’t want to miss out on.
This year, we’re bringing the big guns in the SEO world — Aaron Wall (SEOBook) and Todd Malicoat (Stuntdubl) along with Jim Boykin, Charlie Ellis and Dean Chew. We don’t often get to see these guys come over to the Philippines and talk SEO so this opportunity is very hard to come by.
The 2-day conference will cover “Search and Social” — SEM, SEO, SMO, PPC — and how the mix of both strategies bring the best results in search marketing.
We also have our local rockstars on the SEO and Social Media sphere — RJ David of Sulit.com.ph, Benj Arriola, Mike Villar and TJ Manotoc (to talk about Search & Social Media in the Newsroom).
What to expect in SEMCON 2010?
And did I mention you get to meet Aaron Wall himself?
So mark the date, file your VLs early or tell your boss this is a conference he needs to send you to if your company is serious about SEO.

Andre Marcelo-Tanner says:
nice lineup, especially more focused now on SEO rather than general internet marketing and promotion.
Mr.A says:
I have this mindset with regards to SEOs. They’re making the internet unreliable by pushing unnecessary information to the top of our search result. It also makes good content harder to find. Reason why sites like facebook, twitter and other SNS more preferred.
Anyway, I maybe talking to a wrong type of SEOs. I’m intersted on joining this, yet, a 12K price tag is not up to my budget.
Andre Marcelo-Tanner says:
SEO is a type of marketing to increase the chance of a page being found using a search engine, it is the search engines job to make sure its the right information.
Solidad says:
@Andre
It is basically optimizing your site, so that algorithms used by google will be favored, thus puts them on the top of the search result. Reasons why I see a lot of content farms, and parking sites since they manipulatively take advantage of SEOs.
I understand what you mean. I just don’t like the concept of SEOs, period. Let’s not go on a debate for this.
charlie says:
i agree with Mr.A and Solidad.
i don’t apply any seo tactics on my site and yet whenever i post something, after a few minutes, it’s already being indexed by search engine, and after a couple of days it’s already on the first page of search result.
main reason i guess is:
1. the age of the site, which is more than 6 years already, and;
2. post frequency of almost daily.
there you go.. it sums up the whole seo stragegy.
imo, this is just a hype-up marketing strategy in the same way that they do to the Y2K scare — it’s all about making money out of something we don’t need in the first place.
charlie says:
SEO is a hype-up internet strategy invented by clever internet marketer or IT professional to make a lot of money.
Imgine paying 12k for something freely available on the net. Heck, give me a burger and I will teach you all the seo strategy I’m doing right now on my sites. It will only take a few minutes.
This is just my own personal opinion, Sorry, I don’t want to offend anybody.
batang henyo says:
I’ll attend if RJ will disclose how he did this: =)

(click on the first result which is sulit and you know what im saying)
charles says:
@charie seo is not a hype up internet strategy. their is a technique and strategy on how to do it. Brush about your seo knowledge before you talk about it.
Scolex says:
wow it’s a big event for bloggers or website owners who are really serious in their venture to make money online.
I hope i can attend a gathering like this in the future.
For now, i just wait for the updates about the result of the said event.
lilo says:
