For about 2 and a half months now, we’ve had the YugaTech iPhone App as a dedicated reader for the iPhone and the iPod Touch. I’d like to share some insights on the stats we’ve gathered from over 600 active users.
From just over 600+ YugaTech iPhone App users, close to 60% are coming from the Philippines followed by United States (14.43%), Australia (5.14%) and Singapore (3.81%).
Users by Country/Region:
As for the type of devices used, for the longest time it was the iPhone 3G that led the pack until this month when the iPhone 3GS took the lead at 28.24%. There’s a 6 to 4 ratio between iPhone and iPod Touch users.
Users by Device Type
The most interesting to me actually is the number of jailbroken devices — the 30% has been pretty consistent even from the start so it looks like one in every 3 iPhone users jailbreak their devices.
Jailbroken Devices:
Anyway, just thought I’d share these numbers with my readers and thank them as well for using the iPhone App. I’ll be running a separate give-away for the App users one of these days so watch out for that.
If you like to check out the YugaTech iPhone App and download it to your iPhone or iPod Touch, go see this entry.

@Nonoy jailbreaking is safe. I used to jailbreak my device for customization. But I hate having to do it everytime a new fw comes out. There is even a way to get your device to look like the iPad interface.

Sir abe, I hope you get an app made for Android devices too.
Abe Olandres says:
@andre – the current one should be compatible with the iPad but I’m looking at a much better option like that of a magazine.
@JOn – working on that, just need to see if there’s enough numbers to justify it for now.
@ikogsakanding & jer – working on it this week-end.
