I just enabled registration and logging in to this blog as a requirement before someone can post a comment. In the last couple of weeks, the advantages of having to do so now far outweighs the obvious disadvantages.
If people want to leave a comment and it’s important, then I guess a one-time 30-second registration won’t be such a hassle. Besides, it also protects them from having dopplegangers. And I don’t like anonymous comments either. I believe you should own what you think if you want to share it with the public. So if you want to be heard, raise your hand, stand up and introduce yourself first.
It also solves the problem with spam getting thru the filters and all.
So there, if you have time to spare now, even if you’re not feel like commenting yet, go and register ahead. T’will save you some precious seconds when it’s time to leave me a comment in the future.
Comment spam seems to be increasingly getting past SK2’s filters nowadays. I might experiment with Akismet soon…
(Anyway, let’s see if this new registration requirement allows me to display my gravatar.)
I haven’t but from experience with other blogs I run, Akismet rocks. I only have SK2 running here.
Hi Yuga. Have you tried Akismet with WP 1.5.2?
woot. mga 1 minute lang kasama na ang pagpalit ng password.
