Our Favorite Features from the Infinix ZERO 30

This is the ZERO 30 4G, a budget–oriented smartphone from the folks over at Infinix that features some noteworthy specs at an official retail price of PHP 9,999.

Cameras

The ZERO 30’s ace up its sleeve is actually in its camera system!

The rear features a triple-camera setup consisting of a 108MP main camera with PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus) for sharp and detailed shots.

All zoom levels come from this main 108MP sensor which isn’t that bad considering all the pixels the system has to crop with to create a 2x image.

But what makes it a triple camera setup is the addition of two 2MP depth sensors, making those portrait shots actually pretty good considering the cost.

We get a slew of AI beautification effects from the default camera app if you’re into that too.

The 50MP front-facing camera found in the display’s punch-hole also features a stealthy LED flash at the top left corner within the bezel.

It’s quite powerful and gets cool points from first timers! Jokes aside, it promotes a new twist to flash photography selfies and it’s pretty useful especially in low-lighting conditions.

For video, the Infinix ZERO 30 is capable of shooting at a resolution of up to 1440p at 30fps, with FHD (1080p) capable of up to 60fps.

Design

The Infinix ZERO 30 4G immediately catches the eye with its large 6.78-inch Full HD+ 3D curved AMOLED display.

The device looks really sleek at just 7.9mm thick and it feels solid in the hands, weighing in at less than 200 grams.

It’s available in a few colors but our review unit is in Misty Green. Which features this soft-touch leather-like material at the rear that feels nice to touch, with gold accenting all around the device, the camera module and the Infinix logo at the lower portion of the back.

This camera module is on the larger side but it houses the main triple camera array that features a 108MP sensor, more on that later.

The volume rocker and power button are at the right side of the device. Found at the top and bottom are noise-canceling microphones for calls, and its dual stereo speakers.

The device also has support for dual nano SIM cards and features a USB Type-C port for charging, data transfers, and Android Auto.

Overall it feels good in the hands, though its above average form factor will most likely bulge in your pockets, especially if you just can’t seem to let go of those skinny jeans.

On the upside, this could be a good thing for those who spend most of their time watching content on their devices.

Display

The ZERO 30’s display supports a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and reaches a peak brightness of 950 nits, which makes viewing under direct sunlight absolutely possible.

It even features a High Brightness Mode if the Auto brightness isn’t strong enough for you.

With a resolution of 2400 x 1080, the 6.78-inch FHD+ 3D Curved AMOLED display provides an immersive visual experience and does so while also integrating an optical in-display fingerprint sensor.

While it ditches the traditional 3.5mm audio jack, like I mentioned earlier it does have dual stereo speakers which aren’t the worst at this price point.

The soundstage seems good enough, with lows that could be better in terms of smartphone audio tuning, and highs surprisingly not as evident as the mids but either way, they sound good enough for most viewing and audio listening sessions.

Overall, the display is quite lovely for most tasks like watching videos, the AMOLED panel gives this display good contrast and black levels accompanied by a 120Hz refresh rate with smooth interface animations.

Software

Out of the box, the ZERO 30 runs on Android 13 with Infinix’s XOS 13 interface skinned on top, providing an overall user-friendly interface.

XOS isn’t my favorite Android interface but it has never impeded our use with the devices running it.

It handles most of the things we throw at it with no issue and the interface itself is pretty clean and animations are smooth, it even has a currency converter built in to the stock calculator which is pretty nifty.

I think integration seems to be a strong theme in XOS with even shortcuts for something like the Google Camera built into the Camera app.

And overall, the experience feels responsive regardless of my nit-picky design preferences.

Battery

Powering the Infinix ZERO 30 4G is a substantial 5,000mAh lithium-ion cell, which handles most of my day to day tasks with no major issues. It even lasts a whole day!

It even features a 45W fast charger allowing you to quickly replenish the battery when in a pinch, keeping you in the game or connected on the go.

TLDR

Our favorite features from this device are its Design, Display, Cameras, Software, and Battery.

These features are also what we feel are the Infinix ZERO 30’s strong suits.

With its stunning display, good performance, and a camera setup that promises impressive photography, it offers excellent value for its PHP 9,999 price tag.

The lack of 5G isn’t that big of a deal breaker at this price point either.

Either way, if this ticks most of the boxes considering its price, what you get for the money you’re paying for here is definitely for somebody who majorly loves to watch movies and capture moments with their smartphone camera for social media posting.

The Infinix ZERO 30 (4G) is now out in stores and comes in Misty Green, Sunset Gold and Pearly White colorways.
You can get it at a suggested retail price of only PHP 9,999. Grab the Infinix ZERO 30 over at Lazada, Shopee and Tiktok.
