When you look at the Play Store and App Store, it is mostly dominated by apps aimed at gaming and entertainment. But hidden among them are government-related apps that can be very useful in our everyday lives. Here are five of them.
Table of Contents
NOAH stands for Nationwide Operational Assessment of Hazards and provides data regarding the weather which is crucial since the Philippines is located along the Pacific typhoon belt. Aside from weather outlook, you’ll also get Doppler data, flood forecast, notifications for the probability of rain, as well as news from DOST-PAGASA.
If you commute or drive through the Metro daily, the MMDA app can provide you with useful data that can help you navigate your way through Metro Manila traffic. It has an easy to understand interface, shows road incidents that can affect travel times, and allows you to share or report traffic info via Twitter.
If you’re looking for information about the PNP’s services, the PNP iSerbis app can help you with that. The app contains consolidated step-by-step procedures and requirements of the frontline services including DI Clearance, PNP Police Clearance, and Firearms License to name a few. It also contains infographics and emergency hotlines for other government agencies and services like PNP TEXT “BATO”, Philippine Red Cross, Bureau of Fire Protection, LTO, and DoH.
The Official Gazette is the official journal of the Republic of the Philippines. Like its web counterpart, the app provides you with official government info such as Republic Acts, Executive Orders, Proclamations, Administrative Orders, Memorandum Circulars, and Memorandum Orders. It also gives you access to the government’s calendar, lets you file a complaint against an agency or request for an official document.
Availing of government services means having to deal with procedures, documents, and requirements that, we have to admit, are not exactly easy to remember. The Forms PH app aims to remedy that by consolidating common government documents, including their general info, procedures, and requirements, in one easy-to-navigate app. It has information ranging from Barangay Clearance to PH passport applications, to SSS ID/UMID card.

Not Windows Phone friendly. They should have made this available for all platforms. Not helpful.
