Yesterday proved to be a big day for Apple as the company released the latest iteration of their mobile OS. Not to be outdone by their rival, Google also began seeding factory images of the revamped Android KitKat version 4.4.3 for all supported Nexus and GPE devices.
In comparison to IOS 8, however, the new Android build doesn’t bring a lot of new stuff to the devices it’ll be seeded to. In fact, apart from the usual bug fixes and “Security Enhancements” the only noticeable difference of Android 4.4.3 from the previous build is the redesigned Dialer app.
Groundbreaking or not, it’s always best to install the update the moment you get a notification about it. However, if you’re not fond of waiting, you can opt to sideload the OTA update to your Nexus device. Here’s the list of the devices that will get the Android 4.43 update in the coming days, along with the downloadable OTA build should you wish to apply the new software yourself.
Google/LG Nexus 4 – KTU84L
Google/LG Nexus 5 – KTU84M
Google/ASUS Nexus 7 Wi-Fi (2012) – No downloadable build so far.
Google/ASUS Nexus 7 Wi-Fi + 3G (2012) – No downloadable build so far.
Google/ASUS Nexus 7 Wi-Fi (2013) – KTU84L
Google/ASUS Nexus 7 Wi-Fi + 4G (2013) – No downloadable build so far.
Google/Samsung Nexus 10 – KTU84L
HTC One (M7) GPE – KTU84L
HTC One (M8) GPE – Android 4.4.3
Samsung Galaxy S4 GPE – KTU84L
Sony Xperia Z Ultra GPE – No downloadable build yet.
Note: Please give us a heads up if and when the other OTA builds are already available for download so we can update our list. TIA!
In addition to the devices listed above, Motorola also promised that the Moto X (T-Mobile), Moto G (US and Brazil models) and Moto E (US Version) will also get the Android 4.4.3 update this week.

Rooted users will have a hard time upgrading via OTA…
Root will fail if it sees additional/changed files in the system partition..
Only way around this is to back up your tablet.. Flash stock, and root again..

That’s not true. I have my Nexus 7 2013 rooted with latest TWRP. I updated my device as soon as I got a notification, and it got updated via OTA through TWRP as if I’m updating with a stock recovery.
I never had problems updating mine.
After the update, my recovery went back to stock and lost the SU binary. I just had to flash TWRP again and the SU binary which is really not that hard to do.
