Apple has just released a minor update for its line of iOS devices namely the iPad, iPod Touch and the iPhone. The 5.1.1 update (54.5 MB in file size) focuses on improvements and bug fixes which include:
To get the update just plug in your device in your computer then fire up iTunes on your desktop and you will be prompted with the update or simply go to Settings – General – Software Update on your device to download it OTA.
Updates and upgrades are cool. This means less bugs and more fluid experience for iOS users. But this also means getting rid of your jailbreak.
Luckily for jailbreakers, the iOS 5.1.1 update is already PWNED! That’s right. You can now jailbreak tethered your A4 devices using Redsn0w. Follow the instructions here. Do this at your own risk though as this process voids your warranty and might brick your device.

Vincent says:
It’s a tethered JB. Hold on to your horses. :-)
epol says:
apple na nga yan tapos i-jailbreak pa, kunsabagay useless then iphone mo kung hindi jailbroken
Marcelino says:
Updated my iPhone 4S last night.
I haven’t seen any noticeable changes.
BUT, it made my battery life a bit worse.
PS. Lesson learned. The more you don’t use it, the more it will drain its battery. After full charge, I didn’t use it for about more than an hour and I was down to 91%.
Marcelino says:
@Okaoka
The update was pure BS. Sana the next update will PRIORITIZE the battery life.

may isa akong friend bumili ng iPhone pero ginagamit nya lang ang data features kung may wifi… di nya daw alam pano magbundle ng 3g data or pano maactivate ang data services ng sim nya hehehe… basta naka-iPhone lang cya, pity for him…
bact to topic, im really not a fan of JB, pero its interesting to know na meron talagang grupo na inaalam agad kung may JB na ba ang device and eventually improved/maximize the use of the device…
abet says:
You can just connect your phone to a wifi and download the update directly..
Adobe Creative Suite 6 now Available
Nadine says:
Akala ko untethered na </3 Haha anyway looking forward the news regarding the untethered one =)
fshumayrqan says:
hehehehehe. kapag na jailbreak mo yong iphone mo, mawala na yong warranty ng iphone. so guys be careful what you wish for.
Fshumayrqan says:
Justin dunderhead chismis lng sa you, wala kang alam sa jailbreak, try mo jailbreak phone mo, before magdfu mode ka, may warning nakalagay na your own risk kapag ncra pon or iPod, at iPad mo, there so many errors such as 20,21, 9,13,14, 20,23,29,48,50,1602,1604,1608, 1609,1611,1612,1639, 2009, 3004, 3013, i3014,3015,9807,9808,9844 and your be stuck in apple sign. you need to used lower iTunes version. fyi hindi ito chismis, i learned it from experienced.
Justin says:
You can restore from iTunes. You don’t have to be tech savvy to be able to click a simple button called restore. -_-
And ALL jailbroken devices can be restored. The length of jailbroken state does not matter. Please do your research before writing misinformed comments.
Chris says:
And as far as jailbreaking is concerned, may mga jailbreak talaga na ma-uupdate ang baseband mo in such a way na hindi na sya supported ng latest iOS version. Eh ang alam ko, parang PSP, bawal ibaba ang baseband? tama ba? :)
By the way, thanks fhsumayrqan for answering. Pero yun nga din, hindi din nag direct selling ang apple store ng iPhone, puro sa networks nabibili yun. I’m using smart kasi, I really dont have problems with smart, fast 3g connection, there’s signal anywhere, pero I plan to use globe soon kasi most of my contacts are using globe. Ipapa unlock ko sana para isang phone na lang. unfortunately, mukhang wala pang unlock :)) anyways, thanks :P
Fshumayrqan says:
you need to be tech savvy, hindi lahat ng na jailbreak puede restore sa iTunes specially kong matagal na jailbreak dahil lahat ng iphone nakaregistered sa itunes.
hiorwakmandu says:
sir, easy solution jan is to restore the iphone back in itunes.. warranty will be valid again :)easy breezy
gior says:
Naalala ko yung isang bumili ng iPhone 4 or 4S sa Globe last week. Tinatanong dun sa counter kung jailbroken na.
hiorwakmandu says:
hahaha seryoso ba to bro? what a way to embarass yourself :D some people are just way too misinformed.. basta iphone lang ng iphone LOL
Chris says:
Hey, thanks baidu. In the states, diba AT&T sells iPhone na unlocked na? Is there a way to do that here in the Ph? I really want to be updated when it comes to iOS updates, that’s why I dont want to jailbreak. Hehehe sorry, daming tanong. Thanks again :D
fshumayrqan says:
uwag kang maniwala kay baidu, depende sa baseband mo na 8.10 something or higher walang unlock. Gevey sim card only works in lower baseband. yong sa at&t tawagan mo sila to unlock your phone but only to those who expired there contract ok. kong gusto mo ng unlock why you’ll not buy direct to apple store. i hope it helps you.
Mr. Räms says:
I just wandered…… No jailbreak yet avail for 5.1. How come it happens for 5.1.1?
Fshumayrqan says:
dont wandered mayron jailbreak sa 5.1. since it was released ok. lahat ng iphone puede jailbreak ngayon but tethered only. just read my post above.
Fshumayrqan says:
Note that this jailbreak will only work on A4 devices, so those with iPad 2 and newer should still stay away from iOS 5.1.1. This jailbreak will be tethered, so if you don’t want to have to plug in your device whenever you reboot, don’t update just yet. be careful dahil pudding mcra ang pom nyo.
Alfie says:
yeah, use geeveeh
Chris says:
Bilis ah? Jailbroken agad? Is there a way to unlock an iPhone4s in the PH without really jailbreaking it? Thanks! More power, yugatech!
