Disney+ and Hulu have announced that they will raise their prices for subscription soon. There is also talk about changes in regards to account sharing.
Bob Iger, the CEO of Disney, has stated that Disney+ would have their price raised for their premium ad-free service. It will cost a total of USD 13.99 staring October 12.
Hulu is also raising their prices to USD 17.99 for their subscription.
Disney has also released a Duo premium subscription that will include an both Disney+ and Hulu. This is priced at USD 19.99 and will be ad-free as well.
Viewing Disney+ with ads will arrive in Europe and Canada soon according to Iger. It is currently priced at USD 8.
According to Iger, Disney is currently “actively exploring ways to address account sharing and the best options for paying subscribers to share their accounts with friends and family.” This means they could possibly follow Netflix’s footsteps about account sharing.
There’s no announcement whether this price change will arrive in the Philippines. We’ll update you once we catch word of that.
