It hasn’t even been a month since CyanogenMod Installer exited Beta and went live on Play Store, but the developers were already asked by Google for the app to be taken down either voluntarily or “administratively”.
Choosing a graceful exit, the CyanogenMod crew removed the app from the Play Store themselves while they “wait for a more favorable resolution”.
Unfortunately the resolution they got wasn’t as auspicious as they we’re hoping for. Google claims that “…though the application itself is harmless, since it ‘encourages users to void their warranty’, it would not be allowed to remain in the store.”
Despite the hurdle, CyanogenMod says that the app will remain active and can be downloaded at their official website. There, you’ll also find a guide on how you can side-load the app on your Android device.
