Meta introduces new features on Instagram including GIF comments

Meta has just announced new features coming to Instagram with GIF comments on posts and Reels, Instagram Gifts, and new editing features on Reels.

Commenting on an Instagram post or Reel with a GIF is now available globally by following these steps:

• Tap the Comment icon on a post you want to comment on
• Tap the GIF icon to the right of the text box to access the GIPHY library
• Tap on the GIF you want to use to add your comment

They also announced that they’ve also been testing gifts on Reels as a new way for creators to earn money from followers who’d like to show their appreciation.

Creators can accept gifts from followers who purchase directly in the Instagram app using Stars.

Meta is also launching more updates for its Reels editor to help edit video clips, audio, stickers, and text

New features include the ability to split a single clip into two, speed up or slow down clips, and swap one clip for another without disrupting the timing or order of other clips.
