Microsoft to officially shut down Internet Explorer on June 15

Microsoft announced back in 2021 saying that Microsoft Edge was going to be the future of Internet Explorer in Windows. Now, the Internet Explorer 11 desktop application is set to retire and go out of support starting tomorrow, June 15.

Internet Explorer was released back in 1995 and was widely used in the early 2000s with the browser peaking in 2003 with a 95% usage share. But with increasing competition such as Google Chrome and Firefox offering better user interfaces, faster speeds, and a better overall experience, Internet Explorer just couldn’t keep up.
