Gmail now lets users reply to messages with emojis

Gmail will now allow users to express themselves and quickly respond to emails with emojis.

As of the moment, the feature of sending emoji reactions on Gmail is only available to users of Android phones and tablets.

It’s unclear as to when it will spread to Apple’s devices and on the web but we could expect it to be not too far off if found to be popular.

Google also stated that users can see who reacted to an email by touching and holding on to the emoji reaction they want to check.

They can also reuse the reaction someone else added, they may tap on the existing reaction chip.

Then to add an emoji on a message thread, users can tap MoreMore in the message and then “Add reaction”.

Removing an emoji reaction will also depend on your “Undo Send” settings in Gmail on which users will have from 5 up to 30 seconds to remove an emoji reaction after adding it.

To change this setting, users may head to “Settings” on their computer. To remove an emoji reaction, a notification will be at the bottom of the message with a prompt that says “Undo”.

Emoji reactions also won’t be available if you use a work or school account, the message is sent to a group email list, the message is sent to more than 20 recipients, you use a different email provider like Apple Mail or Microsoft Outlook, you’re in BCC, or if you’ve already sent more than 20 reactions to the same message.
