Netflix may soon expand its service to include livestreaming.
Deadline reports that Netflix is in the early stages of bringing unscripted shows and stand-up specials through live-streaming, as well as
The report also claims that the streaming giant may use the live stream option to hold live voting for competition series and talent contests in the likes of ABC’s American Idol and Dancing with the Stars.
Such uses of this live stream feature could be seen in its upcoming dance competition series, Dance 100. As well in its ‘Netflix Is A Joke’ festival—a live comedy event that features stand-up performances from notable personalities such as Dave Chappelle and Pete Davidson.
Would this mean that featuring live shows could be utilized in other areas such as live sports coverage and live late-night talk shows? We’ll just have to wait and see.
