This November, the Philippine arm of Uber will open a new solution to the traffic in Metro Manila under their service.
UberCOMMUTE is the new platform from Uber PH to be introduced to the public. It’s similar to the already operational uberHOP and uberPOOL service, but it will be a more traditional carpooling of private vehicles in which the driver will be able to share his drive and split the cost of the trip. The drop-off of the passenger must be within the area of the driver’s destination. Its launch will be limited in areas of Manila, Makati, and Bonifacio Global City. It’ll run from 5AM-10AM in the morning and 5PM-10PM in the evening.
What can users expect from this new service? According to Uber, driver-commuters can expect to save up Php10 for every kilometer traveled while rider-commuters can save up to 30% cheaper fare than an uberX trip.
