VLC is probably the most popular media player among PC users, both Windows and Macs. It’s lightweight, plays most of the file format you’ll encounter, and the best of all, free. So what’s next for it? Well, a dedicated Windows 10 app.
Yup, VLC is now available for download in the Microsoft 12 Store with the ‘Built for Windows 10’ label. What’s different from the classic desktop version? The well-loved VLC is now getting a cosmetic makeover following the guidelines set for a Universal Windows app. But before we get excited, keep in mind that this is still in beta.
The app can be downloaded here and will take about 22MB to 33MB of your space depending on your device. Interestingly, aside from Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile, it’s also listed to support Windows Holographic.
