The HUAWEI MatePad Air 2024 has been announced along with the HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2. The tablet has a 12-inch QHD+ (2800 x 1840) IPS LCD with a refresh rate of 144Hz.
Like the MatePad Pro 12.2, HUAWEI has kept quiet regarding its chipset. However, it’s speculated that it’s a modified version of the Kirin 9010 found on the Pura 70 Series line.
We only know that the MatePad Air features up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. Plus, the tablet is compatible with the M-Pencil as well.
For optics, the tablet has dual-rear cameras. These consist of a 13-megapixel shooter paired with an 8-megapixel ultrawide. At the front, it’s equipped with an 8-megapixel camera.
The MatePad Air packs a 10,100mAh battery with 66W of fast charging via USB Type-C. It’s also slated to run on HarmonyOS 4.2. The HUAWEI MatePad Air also has a Soft Light edition with paper-like coating that removes reflections.
The HUAWEI MatePad Air 2024 is priced at CNY 2,899 (~PHP 23K) with 8GB/256GB. A variant with 12GB/256GB is also available for CNY 3,199 (~PHP 26K).
Meanwhile, the HUAWEI MatePad Air Soft Light Edition retails for CNY 3,499 (~PHP 28K) with 12GB/256GB. A variant with 12GB/512GB is also available for CNY 3,899 (~PHP 31K).
The devices are set for open sales in China on August 13, 2024. We’ll let readers know once HUAWEI mentions anything about their availability in the Philippines or other markets.
