To make things easier, we’ve put together a comprehensive comparison of the postpaid fiber internet plans offered by the major telco companies in the Philippines — namely PLDT, Globe, Sky, and Converge. Overview: ISPs’ Main Fiber Plan Offerings [table id=2071 /] On the surface, internet speeds from all ISPs’ primary offerings have been slightly, if not significantly, faster than before. Additionally, these plans have surpassed 1000 Mbps, or up to 1 Gigabit per second (Gbps) of internet speed, which, as you’d expect, are offered in each ISP’s most expensive fiber internet plan. You may also notice the “speed boost,” particularly from PLDT, offering significantly faster speeds compared to other ISPs’ plans in the same price range. For example, PLDT’s Fiber Unli Plan 2099 has a speed boost of 700 Mbps, which is faster than Globe’s GFiber Plan 1999 or Converge’s FiberX 2000 peso plan — both of which are capped at 500 Mbps. While the faster internet speeds are certainly good news, sadly for PLDT users, this so-called “speed boost” is only valid for a limited time and will go back to regular speeds once the promo lapses. Weirdly enough, SKY’s TruFiber plans’ speed boosts aren’t anything special because they’re not actually faster than the competition.
