OLX was not a huge player in the local market until it gobbled up Sulit in December 2013. Sulit was relaunched as OLX.ph by March of 2014 (see: How the Mighty Sulit became OLX.). For the close to two years now, MIH (majority owners of Sulit.com.ph) has been trying to buy Tsikot -- an online Filipino community/forum focused on cars and general automotive. Tsikot will continue to be run independently and MIH will pursue the car classifieds thru Sulit.com.ph (a move they've already been doing for a while now). The company bought 51% of Sulit.com.ph back in 2009 for an rumored $1 million (a scoop we first reported here). Leading classified ads site Sulit.com.ph has reportedly been sold to a foreign company for an undisclosed sum with negotiations going on as early as first quarter of this year. Sulit is one of the most visited websites in the Philippines with an estimated 46.3 million pageviews and 7.3 million visitors a month and over 12 million indexed pages in Google with about 350,000 registered members. Google Trends puts Sulit's daily unique visitors at ~80,000 while Alexa ranks Sulit at #16 in the Philippines (and the only home-grown site in the top 20).
