ADATA announces Premiere DDR4 2133MHz U-DIMM RAM

Back in April, SK Hynix made the headlines when the company announced that they have developed 128GB DDR4 memory module. Nearly four months later, its ADATA’s turn to make waves with the announcement of the new ADATA Premiere DDR4 2133 U-DIMM Memory.

Just like SK Hynix’s DDR4 RAM, the Premiere DDR4 2133MHz U-DIMM RAM also only runs on 1.2V with a timing of 15-15-15. In contrast to current 2133MHz DDR3 memory modules (which typically has 10-12-12 timing and runs on 1.65V), these new breed of DDR4 RAMs are more energy-efficient and performs better than its DDR3 equivalent, at least on paper that is.

ADATA was mum about the pricing and the official market debut of their new memory module, which is understandable considering that there’s currently no available motherboard in the market that supports DDR4 RAMs yet. That being said, there’s still an ample amount of time for other manufacturers to develop their own DDR4 RAMs in anticipation of the shift towards DDR4 memory modules.
