PLDT has just announced that it has completed its project to further improve the quality of service in connecting the islands and provinces of Cebu, Bohol, Siquijor, Samar, Negros, Marinduque, Romblon, Catanduanes, Masbate, and Panay to the rest of the country and the world with the use of fiber optic cable (FOC) links.
In a report by the Manila Bulletin, PLDT completed its Enhanced Resiliency of DFON Loops 4 and 5 project (eRDL45), which includes more than 2,000 kilometers of submarine and inland FOC links to make the network more resilient and able to support future services like 5G. The project is part of PLDT Group’s sustained investments in its network.
Given the newly activated FOCs, homes and businesses in the island provinces can now avail of PLDT Home’s fiber services.
Don’t normally comment, but PLDT needs to improve their current services in the island provinces such as Guimaras, as there is no point in offering Unl data access when the strength of the signal is so poor, sometimes in the evening non existent.
