Globe reached out to us and gave their statement regarding the PLDT lines mishap that recently transpired resulting to some of their subscribers losing access to voice and data services in certain areas of Quezon City.
“Such accidents do happen in the course of drilling and excavation works to embed terrestrial fiber cables in our public roads. It is inherent in our line of business and all telcos experience these hazards at any time. Fiber cuts could be caused by any telco contractor or even the DPWH which is why built-in redundancies in our respective networks are important,” said Yoly Crisanto, SVP for Corporate Communications of Globe Telecom
Their statement also added that Levinson, the contractor who accidentally drilled into one of PLDT’s lines, has already deployed several teams to expedite the repair of the fiber cut and should already be finished by 5PM earlier today.

nawalan ng net at atm sa area namin ng 2 days dahil dito
Galing. Sinisi pa ng Globe ang PLDT on redundancy? PLDT, your next move.
Somebody didn’t follow the rules on digging/laying down lines. Free for all ba?
Buti pa ang Manila Water. I’ve seen na naglalagay sila ng long tapes (like that of Police line) labeling on top of the soil, that there’s a utility pipe underneath.
The statement of globe is correct and in fact shows the kind of network PLDT has. As someone who used to work for pldt enterprise, this is a rather common scenario and pldt boasting a redundant and resilient network is utter crap. It is not to say that globe’s is any better though. Now that I get to used them both for our company, I’ve had more terrible and longer core network outages with globe though.
putang ina nyo GLOBE! yan lang kaya ninyong sabihin.
They are turning it into a problem gain… They are blaming PLDT for not having redundant lines.
PLDT lawyers will be busy very soon…
langya no remorse haha
ayan na gyera na! jk . hehehe
