Globe offers 15Mbps LTE @ Home plan for Php4,999

We’re not sure when did this come out but we just discovered that Globe is now offering Tattoo @ Home LTE unlimited service plans with speeds of up to 15Mbps and a starting price of Php1,099.

I was trying to configure an ideal mobile internet plan for a friend (was testing out Globe LTE and Smart LTE in her home in QC) when she pointed out the fixed-line LTE plan on the Globe website last night.

Hidden in one of the many pages on their site is the Tattoo@Home LTE, a service that reminded me of the SmartBro WiFi from many years back.

The postpaid plan included free unlimited landline calls to Globe and TM, free unlimited Globe-to-Globe NDD calls and unlimited internet. Not so sure how calls are made if it’s just a modem.

Here are the complete line-up of plans:

Up to 1Mbps – Php1,099
Up to 2Mbps – Php1,299
Up to 3Mbps – Php1,599
Up to 5Mbps – Php2,299
Up to 10Mbps – Php3,999
Up to 15Mbps – Php4,999

There’s a standard lock-in period of 12 months but additional promos might require you to do a 24-month contract.

Of course, your area will have to have good LTE signal in order for you to be given this service plan.

    It will lock by FUP..

  2. miki honra says:

guys can i ask ilan ung upload speed ng 15mbps ng globe ty :)

  3. fhedro says:

“UP TO” word is used to get them out of complaining customer when their service is so slow. Most likely in their contract there is a word Reliability % which is not followed at all.

  4. Carlo says:

So, my comment never got published, huh?!

This tech blog is going down the dumps. Mentioning not knowing about how SMS are going to be sent when there was in fact no mention of SMS in the press release to begin with?!

And, the bald hypocrite that the author is chooses not to publish my comment to save face. Sheesh. Typical!

  5. Noel Dacara says:

Then again…the word “UP TO”, knavish ISP advertising as its best! What we need is a guaranteed speed and a stable connection!!!

    • amang says:

guaranteed speed is only available in leased line.

  6. ako says:

guys, tama n yang yabangan nyo, gumamit nlng kau ng kaya nyong bayaran.

  7. Fion says:

Hi @Abe, I would like to send you 12k-worth of thank yous! Because of this post, I checked globe’s site and found that our current DSL plan 1999 3mbps is now 999. Since Im out of their lock-in period, I called globe to update the plan and my next bill will be 999 instead of 1999 (excluding the service charge and 1mo advance MSF. You saved me 1k/month!

    • Abe Olandres says:

      Welcome :)

    • Fion says:

Although I would like Globe to know that since they have an ARMY of reps to call consumers regarding overdue/billing concerns, they should also have CSRs to call subscribers in cases like these.. wishful thinking…$$$$$

  8. Troy says:

Cockamamie Horsh!t this is. Even though I love globe. Who on earth would pay a 1mbps connection thats says its LTE. “Huwaw naka lte kami super bilis nito then its only 1mbps.. I just hope many people are informed or really know what they are getting into when they subscribed to this kinds of promos.

  9. Yusuf says:

There is no point in getting a 1099 plan at 1 Mbps when you can have SMART Prepaid LTE at 1200 per month (42 Mbps). I mean wtf. You can also have an iPhone 5 at Plan 999 (with +600 downpayment each month) each month and have unlimited LTE + no bandwidth cap. Fuck sake.

  10. Eason says:

The rates are almost the same as their DSL lines, I suggest get that instead of this one since DSL line is more stable.

For those who are complaining of the capped speed even though its LTE, just take the principle of Smart Bro where its up to 3mbps as well but if you have LTE connectivity then its supposedly to become more stable.

If its really stable that is the more important question

    • -Joe says:

You’re right brad. DSL is more stable compare sa wireless na LTE.

Let’s talk about the probability at ratio ng isang cellsite tower ng globe. I would say cguro minimum is 30 days and maximum is 60 days bago natin matawag bottleneck or congested na yong mga connection nila sa isang cellsite.

  11. Carlo says:

i dont get it.. if im the consumer.. why will I choose an LTE with only 1 mbps speed if i can get the same on a non-LTE offer by other telcos.. whats the advantage? or they just using the name LTE?

    • kev says:

Angas factor hehe…

    • Abe Olandres says:

You will only get it when your area *does not* have any *wired* internet option.

  12. jax says:

  13. -Joe says:

yong standard lock-in is 12 months then yong promo ay 24 months. for those na may meron nang wired sa bahay wag na kayo mag shift dito. kapag bumagyo at umulan ng kunti sa lugar nyo guys bibigay talaga ang connection nito and there’s nothing we can do. kahit canopy at satellite dish pa yong internet nyo yun lang talaga ang disadvantage.

yong 12 months at 24 months mahaba yun ah.

    L = Long
    T = Term
    E = Extortion

  14. vince says:

lets assume you get the claimed speeds and assume it really is forever uncapped. The plan 1299 is just as fast and costs as much as pldt dsl plan 1299 (assuming the rumored upgrade to 2mbps is real) and the plan 1599 is a bit cheaper than pldt dsl plan 999. If so then the prices are competitive.

if this is really LTE it has a sim card and if it has a sim card i can get it and buy an unlocked LTE modem and use it on the go. At worst i can macgyver the modem using a battery to make it portable

    • Jomar says:

IF its SIM based, there might be cell site locking to the modem/SIM card. Like my 3G based Smartbro WIFI, it can only be used within Binan

  15. zirculs says:

  16. 'em says:

I already saw this on the tattoo site 2 or 3 weeks ago since I’m scouting an alternative internet provider for my WFH.

I don’t think this has been hidden since it’s a part of the main nav menus of the products.

  17. lan says:

wow amazing speed of 1mbps for LTE…. hahhhh bilis niyan

  18. wacko says:

    • abuzalzal says:

What? Plan 2mbps but 15mbps and DL speed that is whack wacko!

  19. ecaps24 says:

I’m switching to PLDT after my contract. Their Plan 3MBPS is only 999.

    • vince says:

pldt plan 999 does not cost 999 pesos since you have to get a landline phone and of course pay for it. I have plan 999 and i recommend it if you live in an area with good pldt service

  20. meh says:

Smart will probably match them i bet once the ulimited LTE is over, and rip us all off =(

  21. abuzalzal says:

  22. abuzalzal says:

    Uyyyyyyy…UNLIMITED daw…heheheheheheh

    so what’s the catch? O.o

  23. -Joe says:

I’m not against any telco here.

if the complete line-up of plans above is accurate they lowered the 3Mb and maintain same price the 1Mb and 2Mb.

The Word LTE here is only marketing strategy use as bait to lure more customer. kahit wala pa yong LTE technology meron na silang plans na ganito.

This are two factors na hindi talaga nila kaya mag elaborate sa consumer.

    1. What is the IP address you got ? is it static or dynamic of every plan listing above
    2. What is the ratio bandwidth of every plans listing above.

How those two question will matter to customer ?
It addressed security and bandwidth stability concern of customer.
If the customer doesn’t care about this then telco wins by showing their annual income how many billions of pesos and customer still complaining poor customer service. lol

Note: I used to work before in local telco here and intl telco key player with biggest backbone network APAC, EMEA, US/CANADA.

  24. Andy says:

Another praise release even all telcos services are unreliable.

  25. thecorrescode says:

Seriously? 15Mbps is not LTE, it is just 3G… Grabe namang panloloko ‘to from Globe…

    • Squirt says:

I have to agree with thecorrescode.

    • thecorrescode says:

@rocks, mas tanga ka at uto-uto ka pala eh. If Globe is going to sell it as LTE, then dapat real LTE (yung speed talaga ng LTE).

First and foremost Globe is talking about the technology and reliability here, just so you know 3G are using standard UTP cables when they are setup on the base stations compared to LTE where they’re using fiber-optic cables.

Take note fibre optic cables transmits/delivers fiber optic cables transfer than the regular UTP cables leading to faster speeds .

I know LTE is upto 100mbps but industry standards and based on other telecom providers even in the US they’re capping it for now upto 42mbps. Theoretically its a 3G speed standard but i havent seen any provider providing 42mbps on a 3G network.

    • amartuvshin says:

Pano naging mas mayaman PLDT.. Check Forbes Richest Filipino. Top 6 si Zobel Ayala. Si MVP pang Top 50..

    • Digest says:

eh mas tanga pala kayo eh. As if naman marami kayong choices. Its either PLDT or Globe lang naman lagpak nyo or bayan. Duh?! Mas mayaman c MVP no. lol mga ugok.

    • ariel says:

Guys! parang hindi naman kayo nasanay sa Globe, eversince talaga manloloko talaga yan sila, just look at their glossy tv and print ads, if your an educated and levelheaded person its a damn giveaway for their panloloko sa mga tao …..eh mga pinoy namna kasi madali utuin at saka walng menory, hahaha thats how they suceed in selling their crappy services …just make loco to stupid pinoys and voila theyll laugh their way to the bank…

    • Yusuf says:

I just got brain cancer because of this post. Why. Just file a fucking lawsuit then.

    • thecorrescode says:

@Abe, then Globe should have not advertised it as LTE but simple as 3G… Panloloko pa rin ginagawa nila.

@gwrgwr, HSPA provides upto 14.4MBPS, while HSPA+ provides upto 42MBPS. Both are just 3G.

    • gwrgwr says:

    • Abe Olandres says:

They limit the LTE speed to just 15Mbps because of the plan, not because it’s the maximum. Same thing with Fiber, it can reach up to 200Mbps but your plan will limit you to just 10Mbps on the fiber line.

  26. Smokescreen says:

I wonder if Globe implements a daily cap on this one.

  27. Enya says:

    Fixed-line LTE?

  28. hihi says:

Talagang “Where not sure….” Hahahaha. Sir nahahawwa na kayo kay freking hahaha.

    • Grammar Nazi says:

Also check the part where it says, “…did this came out…”

It should be “…did this come out…”

      You’re welcome. :)
