The long wait is over: Ayala-led telecommunications giant Globe Telecom now offers prepaid LTE SIM cards for its subscribers who want to speed up their mobile internet speeds across the nation.
The Prepaid LTE SIM cards are available in Combi and Nano SIM versions to fit all SIM card slot sizes. The Combi SIM fits current handsets with regular and micro SIM card slots, while the Nano version fits handsets with smaller card slots such as the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
Upon purchase, Prepaid LTE subscribers can activate free Spotify and GoSurf access for one day by texting in FREEGS30 (for Combi SIMs) and FREEGS50 (for Nano SIMs) to 8888.
The new Prepaid LTE SIM cards are priced at Php40 (Combi) and Php75 100 (Nano). Starting tomorrow, November 16, current prepaid subscribers who wish to have their current number on the new LTE SIM may proceed to the nearest Globe Store to have their SIMs replaced and bring a valid ID and your Globe SIM card (*terms, conditions, and payments may apply). Of course, the LTE coverage may be dependent and will work best on your LTE-capable handset, and a location with a strong LTE signal to experience great speeds.
Update: Just talked to a Globe representative earlier and she clarified that the Nano version of the LTE SIM will be available for Php100, a huge difference to the Php75 they advertised a few days ago. We’ll bring you with more updates once we get them.

Prepaid LTE SIM card replacement also available in SM South Mall despite not requesting for an LTE as a replacement SIM card I was given one. And I’ve also experienced drop-out in LTE signal whenever I’m in an area that doesn’t have LTE coverage. I’m not sure if this is also being experienced by regular LTE SIM cards that can be bought at their store but I had issues since my SIM card got upgraded last March.
Christian says:
My sim got replaced at glorietta makati…yes my number was retained pero nagkakaroon na ng internet connection issues..yun dating sim ko ok naman ngayon lang nagkaproblem nung nagpaconvert ako ng sim
D says:
no data when signal is 3G? Same issue here.
D says:
Sim replacement available at SM Megamall but you should come early according to the csr, got mine replaced at Shang EDSA, went at around 7:30pm.
Erich says:
The same thing happened to me last December, not only did I get the same regular SIM card, they issued me a Nano SIM instead of Micro SIM to my dismay. After that, I inquired like every other week back in January hoping that they will have stocks which they always claim that they don’t have any blank LTE SIM cards delivered to their business centers here in Makati. Then when I was in Ali Mall 2 weeks ago, I’ve decided to drop by at the Globe Store and asked for availability of a 209 Micro SIM card, to my surprise it was available but I had to wait up to 24 hours to get LTE service.
robi says:
last december, I went to Globe SM Annex for an upgrade but unfortunately they gave me the same regular 3G simcard, really stupid people.
then last Thursday, I went back to the same store and complained regarding their mistake. it was really stressful and I have to argue with stupid arrogant csr before I was able to get a clear response. unfortunately again, code 209 for my number isn’t available but one of the team leaders promised me that she would get back to me after a week as soon as there’s an available sim, which she did yesterday and finally I got hold of my new LTE simcard with my current number.
according to her, they have a new system in replacing or upgrading sim where they won’t have to depend on certain codes and generic simcards will be available for all existing numbers as long as the number is still active. the problem is, the number of simcards are ‘limited’ as usual.
you may look for Jen Mesa or JM in SM Annex store in case you may want to have your sim replaced. she’s very helpful and courteous, one of the few nice and competent people in that store or probably the whole of Globe.

Now lang na-activate LTE ko. Walang nangyari after I called Globe CS (by the time of my last comment) so I went to Trinoma Globe (since yun ang malapit sakin that time) and ask them what’s the problem, ang sabe baka daw defective ang sim ko and hindi din daw nila kaya palitan kasi wala sila stock so I have no choice but to go back in SM Manila para sabihin concern ko and knowing that they have stock of empty LTE sims since dun din ako sa kanila nagpa-upgrade last week. So far inasikaso naman at direct to technicians ang mga tinawagan para maayos yung problem. Hindi na pinalitan sim ko, talagang account problems lang like trashbox said. By default hindi LTE activated ang Prepaid LTE sims nila(or maybe accounts naten) so make sure na pag-nagupgrade, isama naren yung inquiry about activation ng LTE.
*By the way, upon asking kanina sa Globe SM Manila, wala na daw empty Prepaid LTE sims para sa mga mag-uupgrade. I forgot to ask when ulit magkaron but might as well check it tomorrow if you’re planning to upgrade.
trashbox says:
To those having Problem to connect to LTE, wala sa SIM ang issue
Ang Issue is may mga Globe Service personnel na indi na brief na pag nagpalit to LTE SIM kailangan nila i Network provision/enable ung LTE functionality sa Cellphone #/acct mo
miggy says:
Ganon din problem ko pag pa upgrade ayaw mag connect sa Lte. Kailangan pa itawag sa globe pars ma activate.
chris says:
i’m experiencing the same problem with Angelo. Ayaw din mag LTE kaya I called Globe CS for that. Hindi daw activated yung LTE ko kaya iaactivate pa daw. Wtf. I have to wait pa for confirmation.
Erich says:
Hi Angelo, may we please know which Globe Store you’ve been to? No availability whatsoever here in Makati CBD and to think it’s Ayala territory. And if anyone will visit any Globe Store soon to inquire, can I as a favour and let me know if LTE Micro SIM code 209 is available so I can go there and have mine upgraded.
angelo says:
Ako napapalitan ko non lte sim ko to lte prepaid, however ayaw mag LTE signal perp ang postpaid sim ko ok naman using the same phone. Nakakaasar. Kaya H+ lang signal tuloy
miggy says:
Went to sm manila meron ngang available update. Nakipag argue pa ako sa guard don. Kaso sabi niya sa postpaid lang daw meron dahil i insisted binigyan niya ako ng number. I paid 40 pesos and tricut yung sim na binigay.
frozen says:
Visited Globe in SM Manila earlier today, and it was available (convert old sim to LTE with the same number) but not for free.
MIggy says:
HOw much yung fee? naka punta ako sa SM lazaro, glorietta and greenbelt out of stock daw sim nila mga 3rd week of January pa
pablue says:
Wala pa rin nga yung convert to lte sim. Naku naman
jake says:
wala pa rin po yung conversion ng Prepaid to LTE sim naginquire po kase ako sa Greenbelt
Erich says:
I’ve visited earlier The Globe Tower in BGC and Tower One in Makati and it felt like deja vu because they’re claiming that it’s not yet available for prepaid subscribers despite the confirmation with Talk2Globe via chat and their hotline when it was first advertised mid-week of November which didn’t turn out to be true when I inquired at their Business Center last month. I really felt dismayed not only because it’s the second time around that this false advertisement has happened but also the time wasted whilst waiting in line and to add insult to injury, one of the Rep’s and a Security Guard at The Globe Tower even had the nerve to smirk when I handed over the replacement/upgrade form because they insisted that it’s for postpaid subscribers only.
TM user says:
Pwede kaya ipa upgrade ang TM sim to globe prepaid lte using the same number?

Really? LTE SIMs are now available for Prepaid? Wow! Where can I buy one?
-Yep! Globe Prepaid LTE SIMs are now available. You can buy one in all Globe Stores nationwide.
I have an existing non-LTE Prepaid SIM. Can I upgrade it to LTE? Will my number be retained?
-Yes, you can upgrade your current SIM to LTE in any Globe Stores for free. There’s nothing to worry about as your number will be retained.

Just to update my fellow readers/followers, I went to Globe HQ at the Globe Tower in BGC and they confirmed that the article aforementioned is true but the roll-out date is different, instead of Nov. 16 it’ll be on Dec. 1.

Finally a staff of Globe Greenbelt branch gave me a satisfactory answer. They confirmed that it will indeed be available soon but they’re uncertain when the LTE replacement SIM for prepaid will be on stock. Albeit, I was advised to check with them in a couple of weeks or so.
Erich says:
I was just at Globe Ayala Triangle thinking that they’d be the first branch to have it but the lady who assisted me wasn’t aware until she confirmed it with their brach manager and I was just advised that there’s no delivery yet.

Went to GLOBE Market! Market! yesterday and they told me that the retention of old SIM number to LTE is not true. They are not aware of this as I also said it was posted on this blog. They sell P295 LTE prepaid SIM though. This article is obviously inaccurate and your sources are trolls.
FuckGLOBE says:
Hey Carl Lamiel, better yet change your article title from Globe Prepaid LTE SIM now available to will be available on December as mentioned in other comments.
Obviously this article just proves that it is indeed inaccurate. Your article is deceiving. We, the people who went to GLOBE, are proof that this advert is not yet available.
Carl Lamiel says:
Sorry but I will stand by what I reported. Will not post about this if Globe did not advertise it on their social media channels beforehand and post this on their website.
As concerned as you do, I also keep tabs on this and said that I will update once we have obtained prior information from key sources at Globe.
Carl Lamiel says:
Inaccurate, you say?
Buffy says:
Clueless din ang Globe sa ATC.

You forgot to mention that Globe imposes a very strict Volume Cap. It’s good enough if you will only use it on your phone and if you are a very limited user, otherwise, the GB offered only get’s you through 1 week.

@carl so you mean, tattoo lte is faster than prepaid lte? Also, if you buy tattoo lte
, can i register to GoSakto Prepaid promos????
Carl Lamiel says:
Same speeds lang. Pwede naman mag-Go Sakto on both SIMs. Globe Prepaid LTE has the Nano SIM, whereas Combi lang yung sa Tattoo LTE Prepaid. Also. freebies differ: Tattoo has free 1GB for 7 days, as mentioned sa site nila, compared to Globe Prepaid’s free GoSurf/Spotify access for one day. Tattoo LTE Prepaid has been out for awhile now, and limited lang siya.
Carl Lamiel says:
Tattoo LTE SIM is primarily for internet connectivity. Globe Prepaid LTE SIM is for general call/text/mobile internet use, and will give you a chance to retain your Globe Prepaid number should you wish to have it swapped at a nearby Globe Center.
