This is allegedly the subscription plan which Smart will be offering once they officially launched their LTE service next week. In August 25, Smart LTE will be available to regular subscribers under Plan 3500.
The subcription comes with a Huawei LTE dongle similar to the one we’ve tested during the beta stage (we were told the device alone costs about Php15,000USD 256INR 21,669EUR 243CNY 1,862).
So far, these are the locations where LTE signal is available. During the beta testing, the coverage was just around 200 meters. Smart said before they will increase that coverage to around a kilometer (or maybe farther) when they go commercial.
Taguig – The Fort
Makati City – Salcedo and Legaspi Village
Quezon City – Cubao, UP Diliman, ADMU
Pasig City – Ortigas
Mandaluyong
San Juan
Pasay City – SM Mall of Asia
Manila – Binondo
Muntinlupa – Alabang
Back in July, we reported that Smart has finished rolling out 9,500 LTE base stations. However, it did not mean that all those 9,500 locations will be turned on. However, a total of only 49 base stations will be transmitting speeds of up to 42Mbps by August 25 when people start applying for the Plan 3500 subscription. Why only 49 and not something close to 9,500 base stations has got us confused. We were thinking Smart’s network overhaul would have made a huge impact in the network coverage but 49 isn’t very encouraging.
Again, allegedly. Not yet confirmed but that’s 10GB at 42Mbps for Php3,500USD 60INR 5,056EUR 57CNY 434 a month. Any takers?
Updated: This Smart LTE Plan 3500 is confirmed!

nako…here we go again….
I may not be Smart user, pero I think all the data con of all telcos here are crap…
like what I always say, sana before they roll out yung mga LTE LTE na yan, sana inayos or ginawa nilang very stable mga edge, 3g, hsdp connections nila…as in stable talaga.
pero if this LTE is another band that joins the crap group, bali wala lang ang lahat….i just mean nagpapayaman lang mga telcos ng Pinas…not really a “service”.
Michael says:
Too expensive.
I would think that those who would need those kinds of speeds are the downloading types.
If you are going to download stuff.
You’d be able to eat through the 10Gig in a few days.
I remember @smartpromos was publicizing that they were able to download an 800mb movie file in 9 minutes. Extrapolating that, 10 gig would take roughly 2 hours :D
angel says:
If I have the money to burn, why not. But its not practical, especially those who don’t need the speed.
William C says:
10GB for 3,500 is too expensive. 10GB is enough for 95% of users.
But if are going to use LTE, then your needs must be for huge files, otherwise normal HSPDA speed would suffice. Normally, those huge files will be videos, and for videos, 10GB is not enough.
They should fix their 3G speed, most people don’t need LTE if their 3G speed is consisitent. People clamor for LTE because of their 3G speed that are capped or just plain slow.
Sure there are places, where their signal is strong, but they should make it consistent not only those upsacle places. again, those lower end areas are not worth it financially, but cellphones is still a public utility, and it’s not like they are losing money…!!!
Greg says:
Excuse me, but 10Gb is only about 3HD movies. Kaloka!
Wan says:
too expensive.
Ramon says:
10GB data cap for a 42Mbps connection?
It’s a trap!!!
At max speed it would take around half an hour to use up that 10 gig…and they’ll expect us to keep it under 10gig for a whole month lol
And of course they’ll offer more data for an additional fee =/
Sure, we won’t be able to reach max speed or even use more than 50 gig a month. But still, it’s not right to force users to limit it to 10 gig a month and then impose a fee for additional data -_-
I may sound selfish but…KEEP IT UNLIMITED!!!! >_<
deuts says:
Weeeeehhhhh! Un lang!
Seven says:
I trust the technology but I do not trust the provider, and 10GB for Php3500? Are they kidding? I can use 10GB in under an hour, and they’re expecting me to use it for a month? Anyone who uses this service at such a rate would be insane – even if you have the moolah to spare.
I’ve had it with Globe and Smart. I’d rather be back to the stone age with these providers with highly unreliable service.
vince says:
lalangawin ito just like wi-tribe
Ramil says:
Assuming you can even reach 20 MBPS, this 10 GB cap is still ridiculous. What would you do with that speed if you can only use 10 GB of data transfer every month? You don’t need 42 MBPS if you can only use it for Facebook, email, chatting, and reading blogs. Heck, you can’t even enjoy that 10 GB cap if you’re a Youtube addict. If they want to enforce monthly download limits here in the Philippines, they should at least make it proportionate to the speed they are offering.
Alex says:
I’m happy with my Globe T@atto (3G) with 30GB cap per month for <1,000 Pesos price tag!!
watrboy says:
kung unlimited.. pwede pa.. kukuha ako :) pero kung me limit.. wag na lang oi.. :)
Neil says:
For a comparison lang ah, AT&T charges $50 for 5GB of LTE data and $30 for 3GB, for short, it’s $10 per GB. Sa Smart, it’s P3,500 for 10GB which is about P350 per GB.
Soul Annihilator says:
Even if the price is comparable to AT&T, di naman tayo kumikita ng dolyar. Minimum wage in US is drastically different than here in our country.
steelicon says:
LOL!
crackinthewall says:
1.) Hindi tayo kumikita ng dolyar.
2.) Smart isn’t even all that reliable and they throttle the data we’re paying for. H+ speed and we still need for our Youtube videos to buffer? Wow.
3.) Have you ever tried talking to a smart Smart CSR? I haven’t. They don’t know their own products, they can’t give solutions, they’re so incompetent because Smart thought that they shouldn’t have any access to customer data. You’ll need to wait till the 25th of each month just to question their billing when you should actually be able to do it the moment you notice any discrepancy between your usage and their tools.
4.) Their advertised speeds have never reached that UP TO __Mbps when it matters. Why should I stay up late till 3AM just to watch cat videos on Youtube without buffering?
Ren says:
No taker here! I’d rather spend on food and clothing for such amount! Its not my primary need!

topgun says:
what? It’s just too expensive..i can download almost 75Gig a month, it just cost me arount Php350. That 10Gig at Php3,500 is no were near i would rather stay with HSPA+..

panu mo ginagawa un 350php lang gastos mo?
martin says:
@topgun
huh says:
Way overpriced , it needs to be about 1,000php and also the coverage still seems terrible
I cant understand why the lte is only covering small areas and not the whole city?
It should cover all of Makati, the business district would make the most sense to start.
larph says:
Doesn’t make sense. Absurd. Speed’s so fast and yet only 10GB for download. Its like buying a racer car but you are limited to 1km.
Dtech says:
A G R E E, and just like buying a touch screen high end mobile phone, with limited number of touches… Did they just misspelled their company name? Wahaha!
DTech says:
That’s 10 Gigabytes of stupid crap!!! What the heck are they thinking or are they even thinking? Smart nga company name nila, and so they perceived their customers just like a bunch of idiots na su-subscribe sa walang ka-kwenta-kwentang service nila, o well I’m not a subscriber anyway, HAHA. And with the limited location, wew! Hello!? Did the line just dropped?
John says:
Wow. Um no thanks. I’m happy with Globe’s plan 999. Unlimited data all the way.
DTech says:
Me too HAPPY GLOBE UNLISURF 999/mo subsrciber, haha!
Glenn Ong says:
Naah, I won’t take it. I’m okay with my Php999/month broadband connection. I don’t want to increase my expenses just to have “fast” connections without the assurance that it will always be fast.
Sanctuarian06 says:
Smart: LIMIT MORE.
Globe: LIVE WITH-A LIMITS.
Kung maglilimit sila ng bandwidth dapat directly proportional sa speed at reliability at stability ng connection. Hindi yung masabi lang na “We our the first to offer the LTE in the Philippines”
DTech says:
Nagsubscribe ka na ba sa Globe postpaid internet plans? Try mo, but be aware kung san mo ggamitin, mamaya nasa bundok or dagat ka.
Pero for sure mas malawak coverage nito kaysa sa LTE na to… Wahaaha!
cire says:
a faster speed with a 10gb limit…who cares…

with that speed half day lang ubos na 10gb limit

just my 2 peso.

Pass! Satisfied na ako sa HSPA+ ng smart. Ok na ako sa 6Mbps (700kBps) DL at 1Mbps UL. Wala pang cap cap!

Confirmed: nasa website ng smart.
So much expensive for a internet subscription.
Not paractical at all. Tingin ko walang mangangahas kumuha ng ganung plan.ÂÂ
Mine, i’ve been using a LTE dongle for 7 months(i just bought it online) then ported to a router. The connection is pretty decent @ 6-10Mpbs i’m subscribed to smart’s unlisurf for Php1,200/month this is for prepaid subscriber. And its true, 10GB is something like kalahati or isang araw. Here’s my screenshot of my routers UI that shows my usage for almost 1 and half day.

i think the one who computed the cap versus speed encountered rough road towards math… as an insight,… some filipinos are mis-educated as represented by such a huge institution making non-practical business and a promo- decided with no wisdom at all… where are their core values?

3,500 a month for 10Gb. Cap limit…wag na lang! kahit 100mbps pa yan.
Addy says:
P3,500 with a 10GB cap is crazy! Pinagyayabang ni Smart na una silang mag-launch ng LTE in the Philippines, pero anong klaseng produkto to? Parang hindi pinag-isipan. Ang market ng LTE are heavy users, so the 10GB limit is really not useful.
