MVP signs MOA to transition from Patrol 117 to 911

Manuel V. Pangilinan (MVP), Chariman of PLDT-Smart, has recently signed a memorandum of agreement between the Philippine government and private sector partners to transition to 911 emergency service.

The country currently uses 117, aka Patrol 117, as the national emergency telephone number, but under the Duterte administration, it will soon be replaced by 911 which will be linked to the Nationwide Emergency Response Center.

The 911 hotline was implemented by Duterte in Davao during his time as the city’s Mayor. The new President now wants the same system for the whole country.

  1. Paano po ang pizza hut? I think magbabago na number nila.

    • Magkaiba yata ang 911 and 02-911-1111

  2. Nice forward thinking by the president. There’s a whole block of phone numbers in Metro Manila that starts with 911. I think marami pang ibang lugar na may ganyang number series ang simula like Zamboanga my 9 din na simula if I remember correctly. Change numbers lahat agad coz you womt be able to call them locally?! Iniisip nya kasi na itulad sa davao. Eh sa Davao naman kasi mga landline numbers kasi starting with 2 and 3 lang so walang conflict. *911 ringing* pa order po ng pizza… *genius*

  3. Wow,concern sa pizza hut.. hahaha peace yo
