I was in a GLOBE store yesterday. I have my IDs (gov’t issued and company), Credit Card Statement, and most recent Payslip.
The guard was helpful enough to answer my query if they still have an iP4s, only available is black 32gb — perfect just what I need. The guard gave me the number and the application form for a new account. I filled up the app form then waited for more than an hour — no problem with the waiting.
While I was waiting I looked up in the app form for the requirements, if memory serves right, it includes IDs, Certificate of Employment, Credit Card Statement, Payslip and Utilities Bill Statement. I read the requirements again and it doesn’t say that everything is required.
By the time my number was up, I went the the counter asked the fella if they still have black 32gb iP4s. He then checked at the other room and confirmed they still have. I said that I wish to get a plan and a handset within the day and what is the fastest way to go about the application. He said if you have the requirements it can be released within the day. He said some requirements and to all of them I’m still in. He then asked if I am working on a BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) then I said yes. After that he said the for PBO, they require an
1) auto debit to the credit card every month (no issues)
2) advance of 1 month to the credit card (hmm still no issues)
3) then an certificate of employment for BPOs (ok this is crap)
I asked the fella again that even if I have payslips, credit card statement, and ids they would still require certificate of employment? He said for BPOs it’s a requirement to have COE. This reminds me that it was not stated in the app form that there’s a separate requirements for, again, BPOs.
After that I said that fine I’ll just get back when I have the requirements. He said that he I can leave what I have then return when I have the COE already. I said that it’s not a problem, I’ll just return when I have everything.
I went out of the store, threw all the brochure and application form in the trash bin. I guess my point is, 1) it was not in the app form that BPOs need this and that, 2) why push to much pressure for BPOs (do they need assurance that I will not fail or there’s a risk at BPOs?), and 3) total amount to be paid in 2 yrs is just 53k and I’m just subscribing to a plan and handset AND NOT buying a real estate nor car.
I decided not to get an iP4s anymore (especially from Globe) and probably transfer my savings out from ayala affiliated banks.

I wanna apply for the plan 1799, do you get the unit on the same day or do you have to wait for a month? And are you getting billed like PLDT or Credit card?

@arvin Yan ang Cash out na 4800 divided into 24 mos. Instead of paying in one time, you will be billed P200 each month on your credit card. Hope that answers your question. =)

How I wish we could do that but Globe dont allow us. Remaining consumables will be consumed regularly, unli add-ons will be on top of the monthly plan bill. =)

Got the Plan 1799, it was fast I thought they would ran out of those unit, no email just told them that I got an existing broadband account, presented a credit card and valid ID… within an hour I already got it.

I got it from GB3, as of yesterday the 16GB is already sold out in GB3, G3, and Trinoma when I went there with my friends who also wants this.
Come to think of it Smart Plan999 is not a good deal so I grab this instead for 2 years you will pay have to pay roughly 48K which is better than getting the prepaid unit with no data!

The consumable amount posted is inconsistent on the information found in the Globe website under PostPaid -> UnliSurf combo. the consumable in the plan 1799 is stated at 1200 where as the ones being communicated by their agents is only 800….interestingly their plan 3799 has a consumable of 3999 in their website… I’ve checked it with them thru their hotline and when they saw the price at their website, they told me that they’ll verify this and give me a call… hehehe
I’d rather choose the smart iPhone. Simple and powered by smart, I really want all the service of smart.

The big difference is the OS.
It’s like having a dinner in expensive restaurants (for Apple) against fast foods (Android). People with money to spare prefer to dine sa former…So, don’t compare iOS with other OSes….Android OS is good kaya lang sobrang dami ng versions + dagdag mo pa yung customizations ng carrier (e.g. Samsung, LG etc).

cutejig is just being sarcastic. He meant your phone is so expensive because of your 9900k cash out. K stands for thousands, that means 9900k is equivalent to 9,900,000. I guess you bought an iPhone that is made up of Gold and Diamonds! =D

Why do i get the feeling that. Globe retention sucks? I was given a loyalty retention offer that is the same as the offer for new subscriber… So i dont get any benefit from being loyal to globe… Booh!

Think of it as an improvement (kahit hindi hahahaha). They don’t usually offer newly launched phones as part of their loyalty plans. Right now, mukhang inuna tayo. But then tama nga, loyalty = new subscriber offer lang na parang di ka part sa kinita nila on the last two years, sana man lang may discount for being “loyal” to them. Pero kung improve nila ng mabilisan yung kulelat nilang coverage sa 3G at 4g ok na ko dun.
tama ka Derk. Globe’s 3G coverage is kulelat. I got a 3G signal on an area which most of the time I hang out. When I complained about this, they said: 3G signal that reflects on the phone doesn’t necessarily suggest that it is. “What?”. And they added that it has yet to be aligned to that particular tower and I have yet to file an escalation letter to request for it. “What?”. Less than a week after that, I opted to disconnect my Unlisurf Plan. I don’t mind paying extra charges.

Details was straight from a Globe agent. Though I wonder if they will make an adjustment since Smart’s prepaid SRPs is way lower.
They said that figure is not yet official and might be changed tomorrow when they announce it.
