Earl says:
Anonymous says:
It seems that this is a great news for some of the broadband tech enthusiasts. However the fair usage policy aka bandwidth capping of the network is still a big problem for all the subscribers out there. Like in this link: http://www.pldthome.com/mybroFUP.html when the user hits 15GB bandwidth limit, the download speed will be brought to 200kbps. Also, Globe has also implement this issue on their Tattoo Lineup.

another trap! beware

does this apply to all smart bro power and starter plugits or do we have to buy new dongles/sign up for new plans?
smartbroken says:
Just tried a speed test..
http://www.speedtest.net/result/2647039325.png
here’s the result: .77Mbps for download and .40Mbps for upload..
analog says:
hindi malinaw yung detail ng “increased data rate”. do customers need to purchase another plug-it device with increased data rate (hardware upgrade) or is this a change in “network policy” on data rate for specified devices (by checking IMEI and other device specific information)? i dont have an old plug it device with me but if your device is only rated less than 7 mbps then there’s no chance you can get 7.2mbps / 12mbps download speed since it’s going to be a device limitation.
another thing is that you can only avail (or shall i say, have more chance) of having the maximum speed allowed if you register to ALWAYS ON. andami pang pasikot sikot. >.<
just a BS press release by smart here, NINJA press din style nila eh. puede straight to the point na lang ang details?

Huwag magtiwala sa SMART
abuzalzal says:
Be aware of the bandwidth cap…SMART is known for their false advertising….Id rather have a 256kbps true unlimited connection rather than this

What about regular HSDPA on a cell phone prepaid? Why just this device?
vince says:
ang labo talaga
either by magic the old power plugit modems will suddenly now be able to recieve HSPA+ signal (their factory specs only allow HSDPA which is one step below that) or they are rebranding their rocket modems which are HSPA+ capable
mdm782010 says:

Smart is BS now. i found out the unlimited plans have a bandwidth cap. so essentially, it’s not unlimited.
Jake says:
Manloloko talaga SMART. Di ata marunong umintindi ng ingles mga yan.. san ka ba naman nakakita UNLIMITED (call and text like there is no tomorrow – ayon sa website nila) tapos di ka makatawag kasi lampas na sa limit call mo! WTF!
Alam ba ng DTI itong Unli promo ng smart? Unli with ‘cap’!
Pag di naman uminit ulo mo ah!
ken says:
may cap din ba ang smart bro power plug it? ung prepaid na 10pesos per 30 mins? tsaka kumusta naman ang speed usable ba sya ung ok ang surfing and download?
striker says:
Yung first 7 days na free trial ng power plug it ko , mablis talaga umaabot sya ng 5mbps at take note 33% signal strength lang yan. Ngayon na naka unlisurf 85 ako ang max speed ko is around 300kbps lang, yeah its a 300KBPS………. regardless kung peek hour or not. and take note again its a HSDPA signal with 90-99% signal strength. Compare mo naman sa 33% signal strength nya. so sa tingin ko throttled ang connection pag prepaid kana!! so mag think twice ka muna.
Sa globe naman umaabot ako ng mga 7 mbps pero yari kanaman sa 800mb limit per day so useless din ang bilis
sorsie says:

sinosikat says:
Not really that patay sa connection. I use the power plug it. Well it’s not that bad if you’re a heavy user like me. I download movies in the early wee hours of the day so that it can have a download speed of 200kpbs – 600kbps (that’s in torrent so if i ran speedtest.net usually speeds are average of 2mbps – 6mbps)
I does not have any cap limit plus 5 days of internet with ave speed of 3mbs is not that bad . Usually in the day, it goes down lower than 1mbps sometimes even lower than 500kbps but i don’t mind.
It’s usually just in the location.
ray says:
Just got Smartbro USB Power Plugit, but got installation error on WIndows 8.1 x64. Anybody encountered the same problem? How did you fix it? TIA.
franz says:
Smartbro 12mbps – No limit.
Vem Dela Cruz says:

I called tech support to complain that although everything appears to be ok, I still can not connect. It worked well during the free 10 days but after that, I started getting slow connections. Now it will not auto-connect. clicking on the connect button does nothing. 5 bars, 3g preferred, w850+w2100.I reinstalled the smartbro app 3 times already, I tinkered with the services.msc for telephony, I played with the netconfig but did not solve it. I reinstalled my windows and it worked for 2 days, now i’m back to the same problem. Do I have to reinstall windows every time i will have this problem? tech support was of no help.
SmartBroshit says:
Walang kwenta! 12 mbps pero parang 2mbps lang. facepalm*
