When I first published results of my latest poll on mobile 3G usage, several readers requested that I extend it to get more samples. After a month and about 530 votes, I think we’ve got the sample size in the vicinity of 1 to 1.5%. See results of the poll below.
Like the first results, the top mobile 3G services are still Smart Mobile 3G (using their 3G phone), Globe Mobile 3G per Minute and followed by Globe Visibility.
uMobile 3G users seemed to have slowed down since CURE announced their offering in May this year (uMobile still uses the Smart 3G network). CURE is targeting about 10,000 subscribers by the end of the year.
Overall, Smart got majority of 3G users with 63% while Globe has 30%. Sun Cellular 3G users are also growing since Sun announced their wireless broadband back in June 2008.
Globe may also be on the way to bump their numbers now that they have thousands of additional iPhone 3G subscribers.
Is Globe Mobile 3G and Globe Visibility running on the same network? I’m getting 3.5G signal on my phone, but my browsing is at dialup speeds. < 30Kbit as reported by http://text.dslreports.com/mspeed.
What gateway should I use, myGlobe Connect or myGlobe Internet. Both have almost the same results.
I use Globe 3G per KB and the site I access most of the time is Twitter and it just costs me less than P100 a month.
OMG! Have you guys checked uMobile’s browsing rate? We’re now on per minute charging… Cool huh!?
I think the main reason for that is smart has the widest coverage for that kind of service. no wonder that Smart will be the leader on the survey or most users are smart users.
