Our previous feature of the 32″ KTC LCD TV got a lot of interested people to grab one (we also gave away the unit) so I thought it would be great if we could feature the Full HD LED variant over at YugaDeals.
So who knows, we might also be giving away this review unit of the 23″ LED TV later on?
KTC is relatively an unknown brand in the TV and display market but the units we’ve tested so far have decent performance. The LED TV we have here is an entry-level unit with just a 23-inch (diagonal) display. It’s thin, it’s light and has good contrast you’d expect of any LED TV.
The screen has a matte finish although the bezel around it has a black, glossy finish. The wineglass stand is made of hard polymer and snaps in with 3 small screws from the bottom, up. Then, there’s that KTC logo that a number of people think of as an eye sore (but come to think of it, people don’t go to CDRKing for their nice logo).
The LED TV sports a wide number of ports at the back, including 2 HDMI ports on the side to allow you to hook it up to a media player or a laptop to get full 1080p output.
Display contrast is good enough (not the best we’ve seen around) and the matte finish of the screen seems to dumb down some of the brightness (although it helps a lot against glare). Response rate is decent and the built-in speakers does a good job in pumping out loud-enough sound volume.
The TV is good enough as a secondary unit in the house — probably in the bedroom or maybe in the kitchen counter top (if you can afford it, the maid’s room could use one too). I think the price is low enough to beat any other LCD or CRT TV you have around in the house (the 40-watt rating should also help save on electricity in the long run).
Check out the deal offer here.
P.S. Congrats to the first commenter who guessed the item category we’re doing this week. Will email you for shipment of your prize.
Disclosure: What we did in YugaDeals is talked to straight the distributor and we applied to become a dealer. We asked for the dealer price of the item and then passed it on to all prospective buyers.
So now we all know that there’s not really much margins when it comes to gadgets (unlike services or virtual goods) but whatever little savings or discounts we get, we try to pass it all on to you (bottomline: we make sure our deals are the cheapest around and we believe in giving people more options). Doesn’t that sound like sweet deal?

KTC 32″ UNIT I SAW ON DISPLAY AT INTERFACE GAISANO TABUNOC, TALISAY CITY, CEBU, FRIDAY THE 13TH WAS JUST VERY AFFORDABLE. THE WATTS AT THE BACK IS ONLY 110.PRICE QUOTE 15 THOUSAND WITH FREE SPEAKER ACCESSORY. IN A WAY IT WILL REDUCE USE OF LCD MONITOR SINCE I CAN ALSO PRESENT USB DOCUMENTS, POWER PT, ETC., PRESENTATION VIA PC/LAPTOP DURING SMALL GROUP LECTURES (15-20 PAX). MAYBE SOON KTC CAN HAVE UNITS THAT CAN RUN ON NON-CONVENTIONAL RENEWABLE ENEGRY LIKE SOLAR, WIND OR HYBRID OF BOOTH WITH INVERTER TO REDUCE ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINTS WITH SO MUCH USE OF CONVENTIONAL FOSSIL FUEL BASED ENERGY. SALAMAT, PIT SENYOR SA INYO TANAN. . .

I own a unit like this, the 23L15, and it plays MKV files and other HD movies very well!
for P8,150 and the features that it has, I think it is a good buy!

San ka nakabili?
San Tindick says:
I’ve seen an actual unit here in Zamboanga City. The shop did a demo and compared it with a Samsung LED full HD tv/monitor of the same size configuration. Surprisingly it fared better than the Samsung, resolution quality wise. Both were tested on standard picture settings. Downside of KTC is the mono speaker, seesaw power switch(fortunately their concealed) and it takes just a little longer to switch channels. The usb port only supports jpeg and mp3, therefore the function is really just for viewing pictures and playing music. For the price, not bad…

They’re selling this at Technomart SM Cagayan de oro for 9995PHP pa. Quite mahal considering the price here is just 7300+. I have yet to check at Interpace-Gaisano. I’m wondering, is this better than the LCD version? Looks-wise i think it looks better than the LCD version, too :D

Hello there. Me and my husband are interested with this very affordable KTC LED TV. However, we would like to know of its viewing angle. Wherein if the picture will still be clear if ever the person is lying in bed or is on the right/left side of the TV? Kasi may experience kami na pag nakahiga ka na … madilim na ang labas ng pinapanood mo. Thanks
gerry says:
You can check out the exact viewing angle for that particular model sa website nila. Clear naman siya from the side. I tried also watching ng nakahiga and malinaw pa rin naman. Pero depende pa rin siyempre kung saan naka-position yung TV mo :)

i bought the 32″ KTC tv. the only brand i can afford to buy.
ended up with two more 23″ KTC led tv for my two children used for their tv and as pc monitors. So far, ok naman as long as you don’t expect too much.

Hubert says:
Saan ba service warranty office ng ktc. Also saan warehouse pick up in case i buy one.
henroguy says:
the brand may be inexpensive, but i’d rather wait it out until it proves to be a durable brand. 7k is still a lot of money to risk on an untested and unknown brand

Sir pag ginamit ko po ba siya as Computer monitor via hdmi ma attain ko po ba ung native 1920×1080 not the one where 1920×1080 downscaled to 1360×768, blurry po kasi ung lcd tv ko pag gamit ko po sya using 1920×1080 blurry po ung text. Planning to buy this one.
Thanks

Marvin says:
Just bought yesterday, di kasi makapaghintay, sale sa Gilmore and same price, P7350.00. Needs a louder speaker for the TV, hina ng sound on TV mode. However, I’ll support Yugadeals next time when something interesting comes up.
raul barrios says:
Hey sir, what else did you find out about the TV? Can you describe the quality of the video? have you tried attaching it to your computer?
merienda cena says:
nice, i like to have one
merienda cena says:
very nice, i’m interested to have one
Jayson says:
It might be wiser to buy this elsewhere where you could test the item before actually paying for it. It can be had for almost the same price (7400).
But then again, Yugadeals is a nice concept that needs our support if we want better gadget deals in the long run.
Hmm, how about sweetening the deal? All the buyers get a chance to win a 2nd unit. What do you think?
Peter Betos says:
Hi Yuga – Before I burst the bubble, the model is not really natively Full HD. The display pixels is 1360 by 768 at 60Hz. “It can” play 1080p but downscales it though.
It still is a great deal though, medyo downside lang ang firmware kasi walang decent color correction (but can be calibrated).
raul barrios says:
Hi, just a question. I’m just confused because at Yugadeals, the specs say a resolution of 1920×1080. So what’s the deal here? just correct me if I’m wrong.
the_saver says:
given the fact that yuga has recommended this item, this can be a good buy.
luiboowee says:
Can someone explain this to me? I’ve been buying some deals over GrouponPH and CashCashPinoy, but I seem can’t understand this deal condition under Yugedeals:
“Minimum 50% deposit for bank deposits to quality and counted for the deal. Balance payable within-in 5 business days after deal activation.”
What’s “deal activation”? After I made the payment and do some of the verification?
someone says:
I think the “deal activation” is when the number of people who purchased / paid the downpayment reached the quota require for the deal to push through.
JepX says:
