As we’ve noticed during the last few years, technology is gearing towards a wireless future and it seems like 2018 will usher in a new era of cable-less and hands-free devices and services. One such device is Lenovo’s Smart Display, a small form factor display with built-in Google Assistant.
It seems that Lenovo and Google are walking down the aisle hand-in-hand this CES 2018 as both companies have partnered up to bring consumers some pretty interesting tech such as Lenovo’s newest pair of VR devices. This time around let’s look at Lenovo’s newest display, powered by a Full HD touchscreen in 8-inch or 10-inch variants. The display uses Google’s homebrew apps such as Google Duo, Google Calendar, Google Maps, and YouTube. It’s basically like a tablet but only with Google’s essential apps. The device has Google Assistant built-in allowing for hands-free and voice initiated commands. It can also be used as a command hub for connected smart home devices.
Lenovo’s Smart Display is equipped with Qualcomm’s Home Hub platform based on the Snapdragon 624 chip, a 10-watt full range speaker, built-in Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth
The Lenovo Smart Display is priced at $249.99 (~ Php 12,600) for the 10-inch model and $199.99 (~ Php 10,080) for the 8-inch one. Availability is set for early summer.
