While shopping around fro a new TV for the office, we spotted a couple of very promising units that we think were really good bargains. One of them is this 40-inch 4K UHD TV Android TV from TCL we saw at Abensons.
At first, we were looking at the LG 40UB8000 which is a 40-inch 4K UHD TV now selling for just Php29,990 (we got a similar model last December thru a bundle that includes a 32″ full HD TV for a total price of Php43k).
Then we spotted this other model from TCL which is basically the same but is powered by a dual-core processor,
2GB RAM running Android 4.2.
Having reviewed a 4K UHD TV from TCL last year (TCL E5690 50-inch 4K2K UHD Smart TV), we pretty much know how the quality and performance was.
This unit comes with 10GB internal storage (installing Android apps), has an SD card reader with free 4GB SD card and 3 HMDI ports and additional 3 USB ports.
For a retail price of Php26,995, it’s already a good catch.

…medyo pangit yun tcl….bigla nlng nag-crash or nag off kahit nag online video streaming ….yung smartphone app nya medyo buggy…tapos yung “motion control” raw nila yusing the free webcam(?) kailangan ng sobrang maliwanag n lugar(like sa labas ng bahay pag umaga)…yung app store ay useless ang mga apps…sa price lng ako natuwa

Hi Abe, how’s the picture quality? Were you able to compare it side by side with the LG?
Manny says:
Thanks, Sir Abe!
Abe Olandres says:
LG is better on side-by-side comparison. TCL is also a little slower due to Android.

5 TCL TVs na nabili namin. 3 CRT TVs at 2 Flat panel. Yung remote ng CRT TVs madaling masira. After 5 years naglalabasan mga problem ng TVs. Yung 2 LCD TV naman 1 na lang gumagana. Pero ilang beses na namin yun napaayos. Within 3 years nagkakaproblema agad. Nagtry na rin kami ng ibang chinese brands. Yung iba mabilis magka dead pixel. Mas sulit pa rin bumili ng Sony, Panasonic, at Sharp. Yung Sony at Panasonic TV namin more than 6 years na pero ok ok pa rin kahit buong araw naka on.

Bought a Konka 32 inch with Android and wifi for 12K. Quite good and watching online movies and TV shows are great so long as you got a good connection.
