In the last two CES, we’ve seen a deluge of 3D Smart TVs being showed off by manufacturers left and right. This year though, it looks like curve OLED TVs are the new thing. Both Samsung and LG are showcasing their very first curved display TV sets.
Last year, LG showed off a 55-inch OLED TV, making it the first one to release the $10k OLED TV in the market. This year, LG is showing a demo of the same OLED TVs but are now shaped in a curved way.
This gives a better impression of depth and perspective to the viewer and also addresses the issue on viewing angle.
In the same exhibition, Samsung also showed off their own curve OLED TVs. And while these are just prototypes at the moment, the idea of better TV viewing has left the 3D space (at least with respect to these two brands).
We still can’t appreciate what a curved TV adds to the viewing experience but it sure does make for a nice center-piece in the living room.

BENCHMARK says:
baka they want to make it like the Imax cinema na naka curve ang screen for 3D.
Lexty says:
Non-sense ang 3D. Kaya ako never na impressed sa mga 3D TV’s who would want to watch a TV with eyeglasses on? and for the most part hindi naman 3D. cause lang ng sakit sa mata yun eh. I prefer better color reproduction and Motion Flow.
