OpenSignal: Smart averages 5Mbps LTE speed, Globe at 10Mbps

OpenSignal, a London-based company that specializes in wireless coverage mapping, has releasesd their State of LTE report for Q3 of 2015, showing the LTE speeds of Smart and Globe.

According to OpenSignal, Globe has an average LTE download speed of 10Mbps for this quarter. Smart, on the other hand, is at 5Mbps. This gives a rounded-up average speed of 8Mbps on OpenSignal’s report, placing it at 60th place out of the 68 countries on the list. Topping the list is New Zealand at an average of 36Mbps followed by Singapore at 33Mbps.

Compared to Q2 2015, Globe has an average LTE download speed of 11Mbps, while Smart is at 5Mbps.

Methodology

The company drew data from the hundreds of thousands of OpenSignal users that have LTE-capable phones and connect to operators with live 4G networks. That data was collected in three months between June and August, but we also included our results from the previous three months for comparative purposes.

    Magpasalamat tayo kay MVP para sa mabagal at mahal na internet access. Bilyon bilyong pisong kita para sa kanila. Sa mga hepe ng NTC, totoo po bang kayo ay mga Commissioners ? Puro ingay sa umpisa, kapag nabusog na ay tahimik na.
