The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) was under fire yesterday as a screenshot of their web portal spread through social media for taking a lot of design cues from Facebook.
As can be seen from the screengrab above, the website for the PRC Licensure Examination & Registration Information System (LERIS) greatly resembles the login page of Facebook in layout and overall design. We first thought it was fake until we visited the site. It looks like a phishing portal for Facebook but, it’s a Philippine Government portal for registered professionals.
The fiasco must have reached the concerned parties as they have changed the website a bit earlier today — a change in color (see below).
Looks like the people in charge of the portal has some explaining to do. Let’s hope they change it soon and have it done professionally.
Update 03/08/16:
The site got updated with a fresh new layout and a more informative processing feature.
YugaTech.com is the largest and longest-running technology site in the Philippines. Originally established in October 2002, the site was transformed into a full-fledged technology platform in 2005.

is that a reliable PRC website?? it is not even SSL-secured (same with passport.com.ph)
leypascua (@leypascua) says:
I wouldn’t use this site. It asks for personal details without even using HTTPS!
This is hard evidence on why a department of ICT is needed ASAP. A law must mandate all government offices need to abide by the technical guidance as specified by this dedicated department.
Actually, I don’t get why individual government offices don’t consult DOST for their IT software initiatives. The department has competent people that can guide all other agencies with their implementations of IT.
